Tulips For Mother's Day

The boys surprised me with a bunch of tulips for Mother's Day. How lovely and thoughtful of them. HUGS. ^_^

Getting tulips reminded me of Huis Ten Bosch in Japan, a taste of Dutch in Japan. I've never been to Holland, so Huis Ten Bosch is the closest thing Dutch I've experienced.

The tulips are native of the western Mediterranean and the steppes of Central Asia. In Persia and Turkey, it played a significant role in the art and culture hundred of years ago. Tulips were at one time as expensive as a house because of their rarity. The flower’s popularity spread as Europeans began taking to tulips, particularly in the Netherlands.

The meaning of tulips is generally perfect love. The tulip in general are an affirmation of love; an offering from the perfect lover. Now, isn't it lovely to get tulips from your loved ones? I'm happy...
