Counting Days For The Holidays

Am really, really looking forward for the Chinese New Year holiday in about three weeks’ time. Coincidentally, Valentine’s Day falls on Chinese New Year this year.

I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day but I like taking advantage of whatever promotion the day entails. With a long weekend during the holiday, I’ve already booked two nights at a nearby hotel to spend with Zaini and Raimie. Two nights of lazing around by the pool or in our hotel room doing nothing should be bliss. I think I need to work harder at the gym so that I don’t look half bad in my swimming suits though! Sure don’t want looking like a beached whale at the pool. LOL

I got a good rate for our rooms, so much cheaper than the published promotion rate (even cheaper than their best available rate) because I told them I didn’t want to go for their buffet breakfast and am trying to avoid the breakfast crowd. It’ll be nicer to have breakfast in bed instead and maybe a quiet dinner in the evening. I wonder if they can arrange a candlelight dinner in our room or not. That’ll be so romantic. ^_^

For those celebrating the New Year, what’s your plan for the holidays? Traveling back to your hometown? Do drive carefully ya. Should be time for your car to be checked and serviced before your journey.

Or any plans to go away for a vacation? Cuti-cuti Malaysia or abroad?  Enjoy your holiday!

Anyway, why lah Thaipusam falls on Saturday this year? Sadly, quite a number of public holidays fall on Saturdays in 2010. That means, I have lesser off days to enjoy! *sob sob* Even for those who work on Saturdays, public holidays on a Saturday meant that you only get half day off because the afternoon part is already your off day right. So rugi!

  1. You get long weekend on CNY? Lucky! No such thing here, the government only mark Feb 14th as holiday which is Sunday :(

We have long weekend later on 26th.

  2. @Evan's Mom,
Two days Public Holidays for CNY, just like the Hari Raya Aidilfitri. As it falls on Sunday, there's replacement holiday so we get Saturday - Tuesday holiday. Yeay! Most school will be closed for a week too. :)

26th Jan or 26th Feb? What's the occasion?

  19. @Dora,
If you have a schoolgoing child, you need to plan any trip/vacation early, much more so if during peak season. :)

So, you go back to your hometown every day. Lucky you. :D

  21. Lol.. I can just afford to use vouchers I win.. Plus, it could be a good excuse not to waste.. If to just book a hotel for fun, maybe I'll wait until after the wedding.. :D

  22. @Angel,
Reminded me of when Zaini and I just got married. We always find excuses to check-in to a hotel sometimes on a whim without any clothes to change. LOL

Cannot be so spontaneous (or shall we say horny?) nowadays already. XD
