Oh! The Mess!

Leave the boy to his own devices in his room, and what did he do? Make a royal mess in his room! When we chided that boy and ask him to clear that mess - he'll answer that he's not finish with his projects or whatever that he is doing yet.

It's been two weeks of messy room. I tell you, if he doesn't clean up this weekend, I'll just vacuum the whole thing up!

  1. Boys will be boys. But more and more girls are becoming as messy as well these days. Wonder what values do their mothers teach them.

  2. @ECL,
Nowadays, children are not used to do chores already. Can't blame them if they are not taught that.

  3. LOL! You should see my younger boys room, if wifey doesn't scream at him to clean it up once in a while, he'd probably sleep with all the junk around him ...

  4. @Nick,
LOL. I guess kids, regardless of gender can be quite messy. XD

I don't scream or nag, I just chuck them away. If he knows what's best for him, he'd get it all sorted out when I start holding the vacuum cleaner. LOL

  5. Once, when I was young, my mom did just that - start vacuuming all my stuffs. I made sure I clean up every time after that.. :D

  6. @Bella,

  9. @SK,
He's OK with other chores except cleaning his own mess!

If he is like his Dad, the house would be tidy all the time. XD

  10. I have the same anxiety about my daughter's room.
I'm sorry to say she is 21 years old now.

  11. My little one is exactly the same with his toys. He pulls everything out and doesn't put away the ones that he has finished with so the whole room ends up an all mighty mess!!

  12. @Anzu,
I think she'll be better when she has her own place or when its time to start her own family?

    I know I was. Can't be messy when there's a small child around. ^^

  13. @Japan Australia,
Yes! My son is exactly the same too! And when he's done, he completely forgot about them and leave the mess strewn around the house.

  16. LOL... yeah, if my kids refuse to clean up their toys after a grace period I have given, I'll throw everything into a big plastic bag and forever they can't play with it!:p

  19. @LR,
I don't believe in spanking or caning.

I rather "pyscho" him a bit for him to be responsible.

  20. @Alice,
    Poor kiddos. LOL

But yeah, sometimes we have to be firm with them and teach them the consequences too. :)

  21. i would just go ahead with it. i may not be too fussy, but messy things just really make me all grumpy sometimes. so in the end, i'll just direct everyone to do the cleaning under my supervision. :p
