UniFi Finally

We finally installed UniFi at our home today. The technician were on time and reached our house at the promised time which is 9.00am.

Both Zaini and I took a day off today because I waited at home for the technician to do the installation and Zaini went to Raimie's school to collect our Son's report card.

The decision to install UniFi was because nowadays we spend more time at home instead of at my FIL's. With more time at home and not only on weekends, installing it makes more sense rather than relying on Maxis or Celcom wireless broadband services like we used to. And with three users at home, one forever downloading, another hooked playing online games and mommy who like to blog-hop - UniFi seems inevitable after using Streamyx. ^^

  1. Installing it does make sense with 3 people needing online service all the time :) We still use broadband connected to a wifi router at home. Not every efficient as the wifi slows down the connection.

  8. @SK,
So far (just a few hours) am happy, really happy with UniFi. And we just got the package that is not that much different in price than our previous Streamyx account.

  10. Congratulations! Welcome to the club!

Unifi speed is commendable. What is worrying though is when it goes down, so does the phone line. I've had my service interrupted twice so far. Once when the router (little white box) broke down and had to be replaced. Technician said it's pretty common. Second downtime was just two weeks ago due to a faulty phone socket (no fault of Unifi though) but that also disrupted Internet service. If they can separate and make both the phone and Internet lines standalone, that would be a big plus. I like the unlimited number of free domestic landline calls though. Enjoy!

  11. @HappySurfer,
Our phone line isn't stable either so we fully expect a bit of interruption speedwise, which kinda suck. But we are all enjoying the service so far! Pity though, our file-sharing site which we use to download Japanese & Korean dramas and movies is now banned by our Government to enjoy much of the faster download. :(

  12. Pity, eh? The ban, I mean. Have fun with the new speed nonetheless. Happy Sunday, Lina!

  13. @HappySurfer,
Yeah, pity. But how come porn sites aren't blocked?

Have a great Sunday too! :)

  15. what is the difference between UniFi n Streamyx? i'm currently using Streamyx at my mum's house, but most probably installing one for our house as well, it's about time for me to do a little research as well. :)

  16. @Bella,
Is WiMax good? I used to be hesitant about getting both Streamyx & Unifi because of the mobility, but having the fixed line is good compared to my previous experience with both Maxis & Celcom service.

  17. @levian,
Can't say much yet since I only used Unifi for a few days. But its supposed to be much faster and there's the internet TV bundled together.

Of course, the package price is higher than Streamyx. ;p

  18. ouch! XD how about data wise? n does it include any phone line? i assumed Internet TV means watching it on our computer?
