A Quiet Night

Big day or night today?

I guess some of you have special plans made today. So for those who are, hope your Valentine's Day is great! And those who are enjoying a run (or two!) - how fun! I'm resting today. ;)

Compared to last year when we checked-in to a nice hotel for the day (the day after was conveniently a public holiday), this year is very quiet. No gifts for dear Hubby. I had erroneously thought that today will be a non-event for us so nothing for him. My bad. ^^ OK so there was no posh dinner. I wasn't looking for one anyway. No chocolates. No problem. No flowers. Hubby isn't the type to buy flowers.

But I am looking forward to enjoy the gift hubby did get for me!
Happy Valentine's Day!! <3 <3 <3

    1. Yup. Last year was the eve of a holiday. That's why can leave Son with his grandad while we spent the day together. If school day - definitely cannot do that. ;p

  3. yah, not necessary to spend *extra* money to get expensive flowers, expensive chocolates and expensive dinner.. we can still have the other 364 days to be valentine's day if we want to~~ :)

    1. Of course, it's nice when the day itself is such an event. But I agree. No need to spend extra $$$. And if you have a partner that insisted that you do it, be prepared to spend lots of $$$ for many more years to come! xD

  7. A quiet night or celebration can be a fun night/celebration as well. No?

  8. I stopped making all those florist and restaurants and gift shop owners rich years ago! Valentines is just too commercial and isn't what it used.

Besides, it fits my cheapskate character just fine ... hahaha!

    1. Celebrating the day is fine. But I'm like you. Totally not fine with the over-commercialised aspect of it.

Anyway, it's the thought that counts.

p.s. my version of a "romantic" gift for this year - a Garmin GPS watch. Hubby - *hint hint* LOL

  9. Oh but that gift is better than flowers! ^^ Maybe even better than chocolate. Maybe.

  11. LOL I liked it that you made it sound very not exciting and then suddenly... "but I got a gift!" LOL

errrr... a book about the end of the world for such lovely day? ;))

  12. If you look at the title, yeah maybe so. But it is a GREAT gift and book.

And hubby, knowing me well - knows enough not to buy romance/chick lit book. I don't read those. Well, I'll read them once but I probably won't re-read them again unlike those books I like - it be read a few hundred times before I move on to another book. ^^
