A Bit Of Steaming And Grilling With The Family

by having a siblings gathering over a pot (make it two pots) of steambot and grill on Saturday in Bandar Baru Bangi.

My brother and sisters were there with their family except our two youngest brother & sister. Raimie gets to play with his cousins, who were pretty excited meeting him -  as usual. He gets to play the cool "big brother" with them. ^^
The obligatory entrance shots. Average spread, but hey! It's just RM25 per pax (RM12 for kids above 4). We ate our fill of grilled meat (marinated chicken, lamb and beef)  that day. Who cares about frozen balls (ehem) anyway. I don't. Another plus - it's nearby.
Happy time when the food is all ready to be eaten! Everyone dig in! ^^
Grilled meat.Yummmm...

Spent more than 3 hours there, and got back home quite late and slept late too. Though I'm happy to report I managed to crawl out of bed at 5am, after being prodded by Zaini and make my 16K (it was just 15.56K actually) on Sunday. Nice weekend.

  1. What on earth is steambot?!

15 seconds later. OK, I Googled it. It's a bit like Japanese nabe? It looks like lots of fun!

15.56 km instead of 16 km? Shame on you, woman! :D

    1. You go on a steam boat trip, that's what steamboat is. Eh? Whaddya mean it's not? xD

Yup, yup, yup. Like nabe. Very communal way of eating. Lovely for a casual gathering with friends and family.

I know! Just 15.56K... shameful right? And I can't even complete the targeted distance after the second hill climb. *pant pant* I'm such a wuss. *slink away shamefacedly*

  4. i think it's good to have both grill and steamboat together, cos with that you won't get too heaty, all neutralised right??

  6. Ohh... I've thought you've got bitten by the "cooking and baking" bugs from me (ceh, perasan) thus you gonna steam and grill a homecooked meal.

Mana tau, you went out for steamboat!

    1. You haven't seen the numerous failed attempts I did in MY kitchen. And force Zaini to eat all the failed attempts afterwards. *evil laugh*

    1. There are better choices. But OK lah...

Thanks. Didn't do the whole 16K though. Short of 500m. Pancit after climbing up the hill to Shangri-La hotel in Putrajaya. That is one steep hill. Good thing it's not terribly high.

  9. I like the 2-in-1 concept, got hot soup, got burnt meat. Like SK said, a neutralized meal.
