Lame Saturday Post

Just a post on what I did and going to do on this fine Saturday day... overcast in the morning but the sun is blazing now at 4pm! Hope the weather will be nice and cool come night time!

Raimie had class today, so we were up bright and early. Afer sending him, we spent time at Lake Garden. No, no runs today. Instead, we recced a route I'm always curious about since I've read about a few runners doing it and it's called the Bird Park loop.
Road sign nearby Masjid Negara, new name : Jalan Perdana. Old colonial name is that small white sign below : Jalan Venning.
Had breakfast at Subway and still feeling hungry after finishing that 6 inch sandwich. Hu~
For the walk I did today with Zaini, I decided to use the newly bought Adidas ClimaCool. Need to break-in the shoes more before I start putting on more mileage to it. At the moment, my legs still felt sore after using it for my runs.

Stopped by at Skechers store at Bangsar Village II and tried on the GoRun shoes. Zaini marvelled that I didn't decided to buy the pair. Well, if the store assistants talked about the shoes at length, explaining the feautres or suggesting a few more running shoes to me, I would have bought it. The staff just stood, smiling and looked at me trying the shoes. I don't buy stuff from mannequins.
A thousand paper cranes at Bangsar Village. They were an initiative made after the Tsunami in Japan last year to collect funds for the victims.
Then, we spent a couple of hours at MPH to kill time. I speed read through the book in beige and Zaini passed the red book for me to read. Somehow the beige book was more interesting.  I didn't buy either of the book, but bagged a back-issue of Runners' World magazine at a magazine shop elsewhere.

By the time Raimie finished his class, it's time for lunch! Time to carbo load! Heh Heh
 Zaini's lunch
Raimie had this salmon steak and he cleaned up everything! All of the salmon and potato that is. Veges were eaten by Mommy.
 Mommy had this
Raimie enjoying his lunch. Who cares about Mommy taking photos? Just ignore her! LOL
and in a few hours' time, we'll head to Sepang International Circuit because Mommy wanted to do some loops there with 5,000 other runners. 500 runner will do 42K. 3,500 will do 15.5K (Mommy included) and the rest will do a fun run at 5.5K. Wish us luck!

  1. You didn't run in the morning, but under the hot sun in the afternoon?

Got one more supporter when you run in the afternoon, right? Since Raimie is not available in the morning XD

    1. Not in the afternoon lah... I'm very bad at standing the heat. Really cannot tahan heat. xD

It's a night race. Poor Raimie waited so long, because Mommy didn't finish at the time she expected that he slept while waiting.

  2. Your feet are still trying to get comfortable with the chilli red shoes before the big day, huh? Normally how long do they get to 'befriend' each other? 2 tries? 3 tries?

As for my heels... if I encountered blisters for 2 continuing time I had them on, I'll throw them away. Such a waste, right? But I can't bear with them :(

    1. I'm slow in getting used to a running shoes. Took me like two months before I was really comfortable with my now old Brooks Glycerin 9. ;

Blisters is rather like a "friend" with us runners. xD

    1. I'm not saying other people's posts are lame if they do this.

But my post has no rhyme or reason. Just me stating what I did up to 4pm.

You wanna read this over and over, here ah?

    1. Atrocious run with equally atrocious timing for me. Just glad I made it to the finish line. Boo! :(

But the race course, event, race organisers, crews, cheering squads, etc were awesome!

    2. I'm quite sure we won't get an atrocious report from you, so we'll wait patiently.

PS: That mysterious missing parcel has been tracked down. It will be redelivered tomorrow. Yay!!! :)

    3. Feeling down in the dumps at the moment, both with the dismal race and with the general effect of having a flu and a scratchy throat. So can't even find the energy to think about typing up a report just yet. :(

      Yay for the missing package!

  11. Unfortunately the staff at all the Skechers outlets don't really know much about running hence the standing around like mannequins.

    1. That's a pity though. But I guess since most of their range of shoes aren't geared towards the running crowd, that's understandable.

But I hoped that the staff would at least talk to me about the shoes and why I'm trying them on. Complete contrast with the over-excited staff at Adidas Gardens. ;)

  12. I think if Nick were the one introducing the shoe at the shop and explaining the features and whatnot, I think we'll buy in a heartbeat lol.

Btw, I would want to eat Subway Sammich and that Salmon steak looks nice.

I fully agree with you. If Nick opens a shoe store, I am so going to be bankrupt. ;p
