The School Holiday

The two-weeks mid-year school holiday is almost over, just when I started enjoying the less hectic morning. *sob sob*

For Raimie, it's just a normal days off from school. Mommy and Daddy didn't take him anywhere special for a vacation (we never did because usually we'd be saving up our annual leave and $$$ for our annual trip to Japan but not this year, though). He isn't complaining though.

He had sleepovers at his granddad's. Played with his cousins, followed his uncles around and most days, just mooched around at granddad's house.

Mommy did "force" him to accompany her when she did her Standard Chartered Fun Run at the start of the school holiday. Actually, Mommy registered Raimie and Daddy to do a 3K run that day but both of them didn't want to do any running. Boo! ;p

Daddy can't get away from work anyway and Mommy somewhat felt guilty about Raimie not enjoying some time with us so Mommy took a day off and we went to Mid Valley. It's been months since we went there together!
Thought he'd like to see the Mickey Mouse exhibition at Mid Valley but he refused to even go near the area. "Mommy, I don't like Mickey Mouse", said the boy. ahahah... Mommy forgot that a 9 year old might not like Mickey Mouse anymore.
Then, we went to both MPH and Borders and read/browse some books. Ended up sitting comfortably on Border's floor. Mommy read some running magazines and Raimie found the joy of Tintin. ^^ By the way, Mommy started reading Tintin (and Asterix) when she was his age. :)
After books, it was toys over at the toy shops. No toy purchase required because Raimie has always been contented (and brainwashed) to browse and not buy!
And before we leave, went to the tid-bits shops and ate a LOT of free samples of the tid-bits there! Muahaha...

Lame day with Son,maybe but Mommy had a nice day out with her Son that day.

Yeah, the best thing about school was school holidays!

When I was in secondary school, school holidays meant not going back to hometown but going off to holiday camps that I signed up. ;p

Start brainwashing already or no (like how you did on the toys section)?

My friends say it's a good movie, although a bit dark for little kiddies.

Maybe I'll ask hubby to download it for me later. ;)

  10. My girl just lazes and watches TV everyday. Sometimes she's sick of the TV and asks me to do revision with her, provided I'm free.

School holidays or no, mommy's still busy, right Lina?

Wah! Your daughter so rajin! Ask you to revise with her. I have to pressure my son to do it! LOL

Although not really studying for him lah. I tasked him to do more vocab exercises (both in English and Malay) and do lots of crosswords. ^^

  12. Tintin! :D One of my favourites, too!

But ... only two weeks? How many different holidays do kids get, and is there a really long one in summer or at the end of the year or some such thing?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Let's see...

The longest holiday is allotted at the end of the year, starting from mid-Nov to early Jan.

In between, there's this two weeks holiday in the mid-year. A couple of 1 week holiday in between (Mar & Aug) and individual school can apply for "cuti peristiwa" or event holiday usually to allow students (not to mention teachers to enjoy longer holiday for certain festivals/celebration).
