Stinky Day

and somebody refused to receive my loving on Friday! ahahah...

Had sambal ikan bilis petai (dried anchovies cooked in red chilli sauce with stinky beans) for lunch. Yummy! And I was definitely stinky if I didn't eat any mints/gum/sweets and the like.
I don't have a photo of my lunch, but instead here's some peeled petai sold at Village Grocer. I didn't know petai can be so EXPENSIVE as I always my petai from my Dad. By the way, my Dad can get about 100 "papan" of petai (a bundle) for that price. @.@

Then I had this for dinner
Natto! Natto and tuna to be exact.Which I had simply with rice. The taste of the fermented beans (not to mention the smell) stuck to me for a bit after that. If you ever had natto, you know that the gooey stickiness might just landed on your chin too.

Not exactly the best food to be had if you are on a date! kekeke
The reason I had natto for dinner was this. Zaini had a hankering for oden and the one place we know serves it is Mizu at Bangsar Village. Don't know why he wanted to eat oden now. Missing Japan, I suppose?

Plus, ordering grilled fish or teppayanki stuff or sushi is just kinda boring. I can order it at any random  Japanese restaurant. Also, I do so love natto. Natto and a bowl of steamed rice for breakfast with side dish of miso soup and pickles : great Japanese style breakfast. Easy to serve too. ^^
Raimie had hot soba. See how welll he eats when it comes to Japanese food? Not a single drop left in that bowl!

  19. I am surprised that you could get 100 papan for that price! That means the Village Grocer made over 500% profit. That is robbery!

    1. My Dad is a wholesaler. He went deep into the jungle and get his petai from Orang Asli folks. Hence the price. Then sell it a "slightly" more expensive price at the market lor... hehehe
