Sports Day!

Saturday was a busy day for us. For starters, we woke up just like we would on a schooling day because Raimie had a Sports Day.
But not before having some more breakfast first. Raimie got his McD breakfast, while Mommy and Daddy had these.
On you mark, get set.... Barefooted runners. We all run barefooted when we were younger, don't we?

I think I was the only parent that was screaming and shouting encouragement to all the green house students. I guess I'm not averse to making me look stupid. kakaka. But hey! It's sports. More fun if we participated actively and support the students. No? But I was mindful to keep myself in the sidelines and not impose myself there (unlike some other parents with nary a care because they wanted to take photos of their child(ren) with their humongous iPad. Tsk).
Some random shots of the school kids at the sports day. Happy, tired, stressed-out?
Stressed-out teachers rounding out the students for prize giving ceremony. kekeke
Spotted on the dashboard of the Milo van that came to the school. Looks like I'll be seeing the same Milo van later that night!
Chilling-out in between track events
A podium finish. And a team photo afterwards. Do you know how hard it is to get boys to pose for photos?
Congrats Raimie!

We were there from the start of the event at 8.00am till the closing ceremony at 12.30pm! Me & Zaini were on our feet the whole time because where's the fun just sitting under the tent with other parents?

I know my feet is going to suffer after this, what with a run slotted later that night. And suffer I did! But it was worth the suffering seeing how much Son enjoyed his sports day and Mommy got to be a bunny later that night! ^^

He said he is looking forward to next year and get more medals! That's the spirit! :)

    3. Yeah, our goal in life are to be such a pest to them and humiliate them in front of their friends. LOL

I will be forever in my "shouty" mode. So not good. ;p

And for punishment for students, I'll make them run around in loops. Pity the students. haha

    2. Is that so, Ru? I see my girl's teachers are kinda relax.... and they always joke with their students?

Primary school and tertiary one differ a lot, eh? :p

    3. Yvonne, teachers are also excellent actors! ;)

Just you wait till those teachers have to force English into lazy adults! That's when your stress levels shoot up, just like Tokyo's summer temperatures. (+_+)

    4. I should add, in all fairness, that most of my university students are great.

It's a different story at the eikaiwa (conversation school) where I teach, because sometimes I have students who only attend because their company/boss instructed them to; and sometimes I get "office lady" women who ... oh, gawd ... why they study English only they will know. To get a foreign boyfriend?

  18. I took part in sport day during my primary years, and as I grew older to secondary school, I stopped joining any sport event.

Instead, I embraced sport days with food!! Yes, we had picnic under the tree meanwhile my fellow house-friends ran and scored the points. Hip hip hooray for them~~

  20. 2 weeks ago, my girl had sport day in her school. This bad mama was so cruel. I didn't attend :p

Like I mentioned above, I hate getting sweaty under the sun. My poor baby was disappointed when I picked her up in the afternoon, she told me most of her friends' parents turned up.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Also she was disappointed because her teacher didn't choose her in the running activity, I think it was a 4x200 too. She is so small frame and short.... no teacher is idiotic enough to choose her :p

So I just comforted her and asked her to try harder next year XD Such hypocrite mama!

    2. Aiyoh! Ini Mama!

Never mind lah she didn't get selected this year. Next year can try again, like Mama said. ;p

Auntie Lina only win medals when she was 15-17 tau! That time, she sapu all "balapan" event : 100m, 200m, 400m, relay, long jump, high jump. But cannot do anything that needed throwing. Arm too skinny. kekeke
