Mommy's Day Out

on most Sundays, involve this :

A CNY run on Sunday, Feb 10th with Gaited Community members. We ran up all the way to the peak of PICC hill and got to enjoy this view :

but not before suffering climbing up PICC with a 696 elevation gain. *pant pant*

Raimie's Mommy managed to do a 23km that day. Running in a group can be really helpful in pushing oneself (albeit no matter how slow mommy ran) ^^

This was done last week. 26km. Alone. Raimie's daddy would usually accompany mommy at the first 5km and the last few kms during her long runs, but last Sunday he just wanted to walk instead of run so mommy had to suffer alone.

Pushing oneself at the last few kms alone can be really hard, physically and mentally. Mommy sure appreciate group running more now.
And why do mommy  been logging all these kms on her two feet lately?

and taping her feet (especially the blister prone left foot) and slathering Vaseline on her certain parts of her body just so the blisters are kept to minimum and no chafing anywhere?
She is insane enough to want to do a full marathon (that's 42.195km people) this April at Malaysia Women Marathon and is trying to train hard and smart to prepare for the event. Check out their FB page too, if you are interested to know more about the event.

Questionable sanity notwithstanding, how could Raimie's mommy resist joining and supporting this event? It celebrates Women In Running.Sisterhood in running, UNITE. :-)

Not keen running 42km? Well, there's half marathon (21km) and 8km categories too!
Fancy enjoying the sights of Shah Alam on foot, anyone?

Doesn't matter how fast (or slow) we run. The main thing is we enjoy what we do and get fit & healthy doing it.

  4. Wowww Kak Lina, 26km LSD... Respect! I have never done any LSD more than 20km alone... It requires tenacity and titanium soul too to reach that distance, less 3km than your targetted LSD but still super awesome...

Luv the PICC Hill view... It`s worth to die for... =P

    3. Yvonne,
I run 4-5 timed a week with two days cross-training which meant I do 30min spinning. Once a week, usually Sundays; I do long runs 20+km. :-)

  6. lina, never did I know that Vaseline Petroleum Jelly can ease blister on feet. I did suffer from blister on my toes when I wore my old sport shoes.

    1. Yan,
That means you need to change shoes already lah. :-D

Anyway, yeah. Just apply some Vaseline at blister prone area to minimise the chances of blister popping out. It really helps. :-D

  7. Even my two girls' fingers have blister too after long hours training for table tennis. I must apply vaseline on their fingers next time.

    1. Yan, Vaseline helps to minimise friction hence it'll help to prevent chafing and blisters. For your daughters fingers, maybe taping them would be a better option? Less slippery. :-)

Running alone is nice, but when the mileage builds up the voices in my head tell me 'cukup lah' more than 'boleh boleh sikit lagi' :P

    1. lari sensorang mmg best. Boleh layan perasaan, cari ilham, lepas tensen... But as you said, after awhile, the voice in the head akan racun kita to say its enough not you hv to do more. Kan?

That's why I struggled to do the last few km last week and still didn't get enough mileage whereas the week before that, I did mote than I should, running first with GC members then with you. :-)

P.s. I ikut you bukan you follow I la.... You are FAST! ^_~
