I'm Still Meeting The Orang Utan Next Month

Much respect to the race team for trying to accommodate us runners especially for those outstation/overseas runners. For Malaysian runners, we still can run this marathon and go home to vote in time.

From FB threads yesterday, most will opt to return to KL via MAS on its morning flight (6am). Yes, runners are one passionate lot. We care about running and we care about our country too.  We don't ask for change and expect it done without our participation.

I'll be doing another full marathon at Borneo International Marathon. With the starting time changed to 9.30pm instead of 4.30am, this is going to be a night run.

I guess it's a blessing in disguise for me. Probably no (not much) horsing around during the marathon and I'll just concentrate on running instead of being distracted by a whole lot of stuff while running. Plus I suck at taking photos at night. I told my support crew that they don't have to wait for me this time. After all, I probably finish at 3 or 4.00am!

To Borneo International Marathon team, you've done your best to accommodate most of us. See you on 4th May!

Anyway, as part of my plan to "con" more ladies running and joining road races (especially the two ladies in Taiping, Ah Yan & Ah Hua), here's another eye-candy.

  7. yeah, i was actually wondering how the BIM would be affected, but then i think it's great they take a proactive change to allow runners to run and as well go back home to vote!! kudos to BIM!!

    1. Cancelling it would be unfair to the 2000 foreign runners so yeah, what they've decided is the best option given the circumstances. :-)

  8. great!! now that Ah Na does not need to be bothered about the dilemma she's faced with.. probably a little bit of rush, but she can happily enjoy the run and then head back home straight (in her still sweated shirt and messy hair) to vote.. cool and unforgettable GE13 huh??

    2. Can I run 7km and still have those hunks accompany me?

    3. Morning run got more oxygen. Night run more carbon dioxide. :-D

Sorry. Only hardcore runners (half-marathoners and marathoners) get to run with their hunks. So go train! ^_~

  12. This marathon will be the most memorable one for you coinciding with the polling day! Will you be wearing a Rocket or Green Singlets?? I bet some of the runners might do that.

  17. So, you still proceed with the run and come back to vote later? That must be exhausting! A vote does matter :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. bravo to the organiser. at least you will have time to come back to vote...errr...means your plan to "cuti-cuti" sambil lari have to be scrapped :(

    1. The organisers hv to think about other runners, almost half are foreign runners who are not affected by the GE so not fair to them if the marathon got cancelled or postponed. For us, if we can't join this year, we get free entry for next year.

What is a burnt airticket compared to exercising our rights. :-)
