In The News

Two weeks before Standard Chartered KL Marathon (SCKLM) was supposed to be on, I was contacted for an interview with a local Malay language newspaper. A few days later, another request came.

Seems like the PR of SCKLM was keen in highlighting families that bond through running to the masses and we got lucky to somehow got noticed (or as the PR told me... it was hard to find families that run so we were the easiest victim option) heh heh

As you know, SCKLM is now postponed to Sep 29. We runners have an extra two months to train for the event. Rejoice? Despair? huhuhu

Anyways, the interview...
This was published in Berita Harian on Friday, June 28th.

Above us was an article about a lady marathoner, Zalekha. I am keen to get to know her as female marathoner in Malaysia aren't that many compared to male marathoner and us ladies should get to know each other better. Share tips, training and stuff. Running sistas UNITE!

Zalekha, if you are reading this, do hook up. I run with Krazirunners and also Pink Runners. Both are ladies running group. Maybe get to know you and your group? ^^ Plus I am keen to learn more about marathon running from more experienced fellow runners, especially the ladies.

p.s. I am very good at finding friends' running photos at races so I am an asset. Plus my hubby takes photos. What runner doesn't like their photos taken?  HAHAHA
A small photo of us at the bottom page of Pancaindera. It's a section in Mingguan Malaysia, a Sunday newspaper.

That boy insisted on wearing his slug hat to the interview. Like mother, like son eh? xD
The full article inside. You can read it here. It's in Malay though.

I blur out my photo so that you guys won't be too horrified looking at my thighs. Damn ugly photo, I tell you. What to do. I have thunder thighs. Uhukhuk...

The main point we tried to get across was : running is a good sport for the whole family. Anyone can do it. You just need to make the first step. It'll get easier (or more fun). Promise.

You may question why you bother suffer while you were running but you'll feel good after each run.

AND *reminder to self*
Run because you want to. Run because you want to challenge yourself. Stop comparing yourself to others. The main thing is you finish what you start. This is also what you need to do in life.

Thank you to my lovely running friends and also HHBC members for being excited for and with me over these articles. Thank you for the encouragement too. Love you people so much! *muacks*

Yup, the bunny tail and bunny ears and neon pink shoes are very difficult to notice. :D
