Third Day of Ramadan - The Real Meaning of Puasa

A reminder to all of us who are observing the fasting month and those who doesn't, something for me to share with you. ^^

It's from Wardina's FB page and I whole heartedly agree.

It's Friday folks!

Weekends is almost here.

I'm planning to either do a longish run tonight or really early tomorrow morning. Can't go to Putrajaya, what with the car being "sick" so I'll just settle with running in loops for 2-3 hours around my carpark. No use whining. Just do! ^^

  1. HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
Yes!!! No need to whine, just do it!!! =]

pay zakat, go Mekah (if affordable), pray 5 times a day, must fasting and another is belief in Allah.

    2. No plan. Just do it. :-D

    3. By the way, the "rules" you mentioned : it's known as "Five Pillars of Islam" and is five formal acts of worship which help strengthen a Muslim's faith and obedience.

There is also "Articles of Faith"; which is the basic beliefs of Muslims.

    4. you've read my jibe at FB about the feasting, right?

Oh yeah, I must not jibe or give snide remarks now. ;-)

    1. So true meow. Once I heard a pastor telling people that Christmas is a holy day and not to get too merry and drunk with hangovers. This woke me up because I grew up with such thoughts when I was younger.

    2. now Xmas is more of a retailers party pulak. Very over commercialised. Those not observing Christianity also sebok sebok celebrate.

  9. I have many good Malay neighbours who often moved me with their kindness to buy supper often to treat those foreign guards who had to work overnight at the pondok.

  10. Always admire Muslims who can fast for the whole month. Ask me to fast overnight to go for blood test the next day, already half dead. Quickly would go to eat right after the test.

  11. Good to share about this! SO all this buka puasa buffet dinners by hotels are not right?

    ReplyDelete
  12. SO you can choose not to fast too? But why when you don't fast, some Muslims will look at you like one kind?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's not about people looking at you one kind. If you choose not to do it, you choose to sin.

    2. Anyway, you really need to understand more, if you are interested. Please delve into what is written a bit deeper.

You can choose not to do an ibadah, But the syariah law will not allow you to openly mock the religion. And if one is a believer, then one shouldn't.

WHY WOULD A MUSLIM CHOOSE NOT TO FAST AND DO IT OPENLY ANYWAY? They have no shame at all?

  13. This was very interesting. I sometimes got the impression (in Egypt) that this month of fasting was not about fasting at all. Many Egyptian colleagues actually GAINED weight during Ramadan.

    1. Same here.

The way we eat at iftar sometimes is actually more than we used to eat for a whole day in other month! @.@
