Rising Sun And Star & Stripes Birthday Makan Post

Can't say we're narrow minded about the food we eat.

East.

West.

Same preference.

So, for our joint birthday celebration, we had a nice Western lunch and also a nice Japanese dinner. ^^

It's not that luxurious la... I received an e-voucher from Tony Roma's that I can redeem for any entree worth up to RM50 so why not go there and eat, right? So went there on Friday.
Nothing ngam-ngam RM50, so I ordered my favourite which happens to be at RM49.90
Lamb ribs la. Apa lagi?

So tender, the meat fell off the bone right away. The crispy charred bits adds to the awesomeness. Heh

The Dad had this humongous burger aptly named "Big Stack burger"
and Son this "Mojo Chicken"
He wanted a dish with broccoli. That's why.

Pretty decent. We ordered from the set lunch menu.

Service was decent. Food was good. But I do have to complain about the way the staff was trying to push the full-priced menu during lunch hour. We had to ask for the set lunch menu because it wasn't given to us. Is Tony Roma's trying to earn more profit by not showing/giving customers the set lunch menu; which incidentally is way cheaper than the dinner menu? Wasn't the first time too. Hmph.

Anyway, we had a good time. Paid only RM50+ for a meal for three that day. Not bad, right?

Tony Roma's staff : Next time, if customers come in around 12pm-3pm, please give them the set lunch menu. Don't act surprised as if there is no such thing when we insisted you give us one. Thank you.

Dinner was the next day. We went to our usual Japanese restaurant of choice.

I wanted something different other than meat and fish, so I had this
Fried oyster & sashimi. Turned out Mommy loved the stewed fish cheek best. Raimie had one of the oysters. Dad did too.
Son been hankering for zaru-soba for a while. Mommy used to make it for his lunch when he was small. No more now. Stocking up for a Japanese kitchen/cooking is way too expensive now.

So he was happy he got to eat this tenzaru soba. Ended up, Dad had to finish the tempura. The veges one la. Son was happy and contended though.
Dad had seafood teppanyaki. Normal stuff. ^^

This week is rather a joyous week for the family. Celebrating my BIL birthday on Sep 20th, mine on 21st. Hubby on Sep 23rd. The same BIL (and my younger sister) welcome a baby boy on Sep 21st too.

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

  2. yeah, when it comes to food, just eat as long as it's edible and enjoy as long as it's delicious, i don't care what kind of food it is.. unlike some kind of people, before eating already have a prejudice that it's not as nice as what they used to had before~~ :p

    1. Agree.

But then again, if I am older, I may start reminiscing about food that I ate before and how the food I eat now doesn't compare to the good 'ol times. LOL

  3. yalah, many waiters never inform customers about their cheaper set menu but straight away give you their standard menu, until you asked about the set.. i'm not fussy about that actually, but what i do not like is the attitude of some waiters who knew you are going for the cheaper menu, seems like they are unwilling to serve and everything they serve seems to be in second class..

    1. I do mind. They should be transparent la. If those who are not regulars, they might not know and will end up ordering and paying more than they should because they don't know mah.

      Betul tak?

And yes, I detest those attitude when the waiters look down on us when we opt for the cheaper option.

      Bayar apa!
