Crossed-Wire

Talk about crossed-wire.

I thought of actually entering World Diabetes Day 5K Walkathon with the boys. Walking. Not running. Oh hell, I haven't been running much lately. Plus, I do actually kinda hate 10K distance. It's hard for the heart and lung! mihmihmih That's why, after two years of running; this would've been my 5th 10K. Big whopping FIVE.
Look at what Zaini registered us for, when he went to FTAA office to register us for the event. 5K walkathon for the boys and 10K run for me! Adoi!

Actually, I was in the wrong category. 10K Women Open was for 18y.o.-34y.o. Online registration wouldn't even allow me to register for the 10K category. Women 35y.o. i.e. Women Veteran ran only 7K. For the same registration fees. Fair? Why can't Women Open is for 18y.o. and above? Especially when you are setting a lower distance for the Women Veteran?

So effectively, I am doing something that violates this race regulation. Whatever. Hur hur

Anyway, turned out it's much ado about nothing.

We didn't turn up to the starting line for this World Diabetes Run/Walk 2013.

Raimie isn't feeling well and I sure as hell not gonna go out when he is down with a fever! The poor boy.

His temperature has gone down. He's eating. A sign of him getting better - playing with his computer and him starting to "loyar buruk" again.

To everyone who ran today - good job! The weather sure is great, running in after-rain weather, yeah?

  2. and why is a 10km run the toughest, or like what you said tougher for you than a 21km run?? middle length distance, so you are caught between sprinting and slow run?? hmmmm, same as like what people say about 400m compared to 800m and 1500m on the track..

    1. You are CORRECT!

10K you do need the speed. Something I don't have. 21K is the most fun distance for a social runner like me. You don't really need to run sprint, you don't need to suffer for 42K also. :)

  3. 35 years old already considered veteran?? MUAHAHAHAHAHA, laughing loud rolling on the floor!! i always think veteran is like at least 45 years old and above.. what is the organizer having in mind?? women 35 years and above are too old to run?? bet they must be super salah!!! look at many women in their mid or late 30s, they run even faster than the "girls" at 20s~~

    1. That's why!!!!

That's what I've (some of us too) been making noise about!!!

It's not as if there's a dearth of over 40 female runners in Malaysia also! @.@

    2. yes, i still cannot accept that women over 35 years of age are categorized as veteran!! hey, some kind of humiliation or discrimination here huh?? @_@"

    3. Some "younger" runners think it's cool to run in that category once they reached 35. Probably thought, they can win la.

Sorry la. Even I don't want to run in Veteran if I can help it. LOL

    4. why veteran cant run 10km? Surely at 35 years old doesnt mean no more stamina leh

    5. Aiyoh! at 50 y.o. also cannot say no more stamina lah!

There are a number of 50+ female runners that can still win races in women open category.

Women veteran on the average has a faster marathon finishing time at Putrajaya night marathon compared to the one in Open.

  4. aiyoh, what a wrong timing for Raimie to fall sick.. played with that Kitty and got infected, so mommy would be the one responsible to feed the Kitty today.. errr, get well soon Raimie, but i think since he can still play with his computer and becomes "loyar buruk" then he is recovering well.. :)

    3. yes, my kids used to skip school recently too. They felt bored in school as no teaching is done.

    4. It's OK if there are any activities even if there's no classes but if there's nothing to do... yeah, I'd let him skip too.

  9. When I was sick, my mother had to force me to stay at home as I was always eager to go to school. When I had started working, I realised I hated schooling.
