The Mystery Of Mystery Meat Addiction

Don't you ever wonder why we're so hooked on fast food despite knowing what nonsense fast food companies managed to put in their "food" that they served to us? You've heard/seen/read about Jamie Oliver vs fast food, haven't you? You've seen the pink slime that was supposed to be our "meat"?

I have. Eeeeewwww...
So why am I still eating this?

Why am I still treating a meal at one of the fast food joint as a treat for the kiddo? It should've been a punishment! Not a treat! Giving junks to our loved ones. Putting junk into our body.

Despite knowing.

Despite tasting and complaining about the dry, tasteless meat that were served.

Why am I so willing to be brainwashed again and again to on "lovin' it"?

Boggles the mind.

Really.

  1. I am SO guilty of this too! Fast food for the kids as a treat. Chips & other junk or snacks for the kids, as a treat. Apeni apeni. Patutnya bagi non-junk food la as a treat, kan? It really does boggles the mind.

  3. probably the more unhealthy the food is, the more tasty it is?? hahahaha.. and i guess it could also be the marketing that has got us all into it.. or possibly likely it's the emerging trend and the changing culture?? ah, it's a good topic for a PhD Thesis i guess :)

  4. sometimes when i cannot think of what to eat, and considering with RM6.30 i can have a "main dish" coming with a "side" plus a "drink", it's actually more economical than dining anywhere else where food is getting more and more expensive.. though nowadays having that RM6.30 meal down into my stomach did not have much "rasa" anymore, still it's psychological push to think it's cheaper~~ :D

  7. My wife saw what Jamie Oliver said and she quit fast food but not me!!! I didn't want to watch it. Muahahahaha

His words have not dropped the sales of junk food. Seems like humans are not bothered what is good or bad for their health. So long as they feel shiok, they will go and shiok sendiri lagi!!! Look at all the Tobacco Industry! No amount of price hikes or cancer awareness could wake them up! My office males are 95% HARDCORE SMOKERS!!!! I wasted my saliva trying to help and educate them but they turned a deaf ear on me. Now I hope and curse one of them to fall gravely sick so that others might start worrying too.

    1. Smokers care more about their fix than their health, sadly.

  8. I rarely eat fast food burgers and they appear like a sinful treat to me sometimes. One bad habit is I always must try all the McDs in overseas just to make silly nonsensical comparisons! I sure sound stupid, I know!

    1. Actually, if go overseas some would head to fast food outlets not only to make comparisons but also because it's familiar. No surprises. Right?
