Nighttime Book Shopping

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Been facing horrendous jam just to get home daily for the past week because there was the Big Bad Wolf book sale at MIECC from Dec 6 -15th. Thankfully, it's over now. Fuh~

We went to check out books only on the last day. Didn't want to join the book lovers crazy crowd early.

We went around midnight last year on the second last day and the crowd was bearable. This year, we went after Maghrib on the last day. The crowd didn't dissipate much. But nothing too headache inducing.

Yes, there were plenty of books left strewn about. (Seriously book lovers? Don't you respect books AT ALL?). Some litter bugs were there too, judging from the can drinks left on books on display. @.@
BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!

Raimie was a tad disappointed he couldn't find any activity books like the ones he got last year but he managed to get a couple.
Our very modest bounty.

Can you guess whose books are those?
Magazines numbered 1
Books numbered 2
Asterix numbered 3
Locomotive book numbered 4
^^
I got the teeny weeny Peanuts books too. Both Raimie and I love the quotes in it. Raimie sure inherits Mommy's taste. ;)

p.s. I have extra

  1. extra ape? did you doze off after finishing this post? :PpPp

i frigging hate the litterbugs! happily bring food and drinks and just cos you can't find a dustbin, keep it with you until you see one la. seriously, the sense of entitlement ("sell food and drinks should provide bin what!") these people have irks me to bits.

    1. Seeing books strewn around and left in an unkempt state actually turn me off.

I'm the type who like to look and caress my books before I commit to buying them.

I can't feel it at big fair like this. Yeah, maybe I'm weird.

    2. haiz.....u sakit hati ...me sakit hati...u and me customer only...just think of the bosses and the staffs there...lagi sakit hati lor...susah payah punggah books here to sell but ppl pulak buat sayur masin from it.

Every year also have highlighted...remember last year the books that ppl dont want they throw /left in toilet?

Hmm but i find the crowd this year more "educated" a bit la. Now at least the books they dont want they dump into a box instead of left all over the floor ...

    3. True la...

But still sakit hati to see how the books were treated. :|

  9. I went on the second day, third day and fifth day and the crowd was bearable on all days. There were a lot of interesting books and realized they replenished new titles on different days. Although I told myself not to spend so much this year (I only went there to accompany people) but I did fork out almost rm150. :p

  13. Never buy books at Big Bad Wolf Book Sale before. Maybe too far for me but mainly because I am too lazy to join the crowd! LOL!

  14. I don't know but I like my books to be wrapped and brand new. No one touches my book till I finish reading them LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  15. That's also one reason I don't buy books at Borders. They never wrap their books. Sometimes I see a good book at Borders and buy from MPH. What to do? I just like it brand new and all wrapped up.
