A Subdued Running Year

It sure is a subdued year, this 2014.

The tragedy of MH370 made 2014 more downcast and my prayers to the passengers and crew of the flight and to their families and friends. Be strong. We are all praying with you.

I had a conversation with son last night. He was asking when we are going to stay in a hotel again (read : travel) and I told him that by right we should not do it so much this year and concentrate more on his studies as he will be sitting for his UPSR at the end of the year.

His answer “I can’t be studying all the time. That’s not how to live, Mommy. Let me learn, play, jump around and experience stuff”.

Wow… He really knows how to “psycho” his Mommy. Muahaha

Still, I’m back to (almost) a race a month this year. After a crazy 2013, with me registering and running in races on pretty much a whim; this year I'll only go for those that is interesting or perhaps a few to support friends.
See?

Quite restraint of me, right? Miahaha!!!

Anyways, you’ll probably see my ugly mug at other events that I’m not joining if we are free and can kepoh-kepoh there.

Enjoy life you all! Enjoy the company of your loved ones too!

  1. come on, it's just the beginning of the year (at least still within Q1) and you already commented this is a subdued year for yourself?? eih, you'd never know what's happening next, so likewise you said, stay positive and look forward to more happenings to come.. :)

and since you mentioned about MH370.. to the passengers and crew of the flight and to their families and friends, the whole world is with you

    1. I've already have whatever I want to do lined up mah.

Compared to 24 races that I signed up last year, this is very relaxed dy. Lol

  2. hehe, Raimie is surely becoming more and more witty.. doesn't need to be clear and obvious about what he wants, but saying something like so related to his mommy and seeing things so larger than life.. good that is, and Uncle SK also kind of agree that he must not study all the time but lead a balanced one that blends study, learning, activities, playing, jumping, experiencing.. and of course "staying in hotels"~~ :D

  13. MH370 is one of the strangest stories I've ever read/heard, be it fiction or non-fiction. I wonder if we'll ever know the truth?

I agree with Raimie: a bit of empirical learning should be applied right here in Japan. :)

    1. Strange and heart breaking. :(

That type of learning should be actively encouraged here too. Way too many Tiger Moms abound and the craziness over the quest of way too many As that somehow resulted in quite a number of socially inept youngsters.

Now, we both are well-balanced and well-adjusted right? ;)

  15. Short trip would be nice and maybe good for your boy too. Too much study pun can burn out fast. This year I will be traveling a lot though and that thought is a bit scary, considering my bank account is diminishing bit by bit. Haha. Erk.
