A Tribute Run In Sungai Lembing

Our last trail run was at King of Kemensah Trail in May, not as participants but doing sweeper duties.

We followed the same race route and to ensure the last runner arrived safely to the finishing line and no one gets left behind or unaccounted for.

This weekend, the family will be heading to Sungai Lembing in Pahang for the third instalment of Team Pacat's King Series. King of Sungai Lembing.

I entered and ran in the 26K category of King of Bukit Larut in May while hubby volunteered.

We both volunteered in King of Kemensah Trail in May.

For King of Sungai Lembing, it'll be a bittersweet experience. Hubby, who was supposed to be volunteering together with Son will now run in the 50K category.

He plans to finish the 50K on behalf of a dear friend who had passed away a few days ago and who had been excitedly training and looking forward to running in King of Sungai Lembing.

So we'll both run the 50K in memory of our dear friend.

The organiser had decided that the race itself will be in memory of him and the 50K category will be called KOSL Zack50.

With his spirit of always encouraging other runners, Hubby hopes to emulate his kindness and positive spirit as he runs and be the sweeper and motivate other runners who might be straggling behind.

I hope to accompany him this time and savour the moment and the run and also cherish the memory of our friend.

Run your own pace.
Play you own game.

  5. I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Life is so uncertain and I often asked why good people must leave us earlier. It is good to hear that you all will run the 50K in his good memory.
