A Season Of Celebration At Hilton Kuala Lumpur & A Son's Birthday

December is of course a season of festivities to celebrate Christmas and the start of the New Year. For us, December is special as it's our "Anak Bujang"s birthday month.

Thanks to the invitation of a fellow blogger, Missyblurkit and also the generosity of  Hilton Kuala Lumpur, the family were able to enjoy the delicious Christmas buffet dinner at Vasco's last Friday, and celebrate Son's birthday too!
The opulent Christmas Lunch & Dinner buffet spread at Vasco's Hilton Kuala Lumpur features Chef Roxanne A Castillo's signature dishes for Christmas such as the roasted honey glazed home-smoked turkey (the hotel's special turkey. You gotta try it too!), roasted dry rubbed Black Angus prime rib, Irish lamb stew and turkey gumbo soup.
A close-up of the ribs.
And the roasted honey glazed home-smoked turkey.
One can really taste the smokey flavour as one eats the turkey. It was superbly done.

Apart from the traditional Christmas fare, the buffet spread also features other favourites such as seafood, Japanese and local spread.
From the cold cuts and salad table.
From the seafood section, two magnificent fish ice carving towers and watches over the array of fresh seafood served.
The plump oysters were (and always will be) a personal favourite but the prawns, mussels and crabs were great too!

My two boys had a great time digging through all of them!
Of course we didn't forget the Japanese section with an array of sushi, sashimi and tsukemono to please any discerning Japanese food lovers.
Salmon, edamame and tsukemono.

Perfect.
Tsukemono (pickles) served. There is even kimchi served!

Local favourites are not forgotten too, with briyani and noodles available for diners to dig in.
Briyani section.
Noodles and steamed fish, anyone?
Another one of my personal favourite and one that I rarely indulge in, nowadays is the array of cheese served at the buffet. Heaven!
Fruits section sees an array of local fruits such as jackfruits, pineapples and starfruits which I loooooove.
And what respectable desserts section is, without a gingerbread house for Christmas?

Popular and traditional Christmas desserts such as Christmas puddings are available, alongside popular cakes and also local kueh-muehs.
The birthday boy later had a nice surprise and what a nice gesture it was, from the Hilton Kuala Lumpur people!

Thank you!

I went to eat at this Vasco recently and all thumbs up for the variety of yummy food with fabulous view. When it came to paying my parking fees, I wanted to faint. Their stamp chop didn't help much.
