Press Release: The Run for National Unity Continues To Be A Runaway Success

23rd August 2018, Kuala Lumpur – The Run for National Unity continues to be a runaway success, with the number of participants increasing annually.

The theme for the Run is not only to promote national unity and harmony but also to raise funds to provide scholarships for deserving students.

This year the Run will be held at the Lake Gardens in Kuala Lumpur on October 20th.

The main sponsors for the Run for National Unity 2018 are RHB Insurance and OCBC Bank (Malaysia).
Dato’ Ong Eng Bin, CEO of OCBC said that in the lead-up to the Run for National Unity he would like to send an open invitation to all participants to train for the event through the twice-monthly OCBC KL Free Car Morning.*
There will again be 13 categories in this year’s Run - the 10km Men/Women Open International, the 10km Malaysian Open Men/Women, including a 10km Men/Women Veteran category and a category both for secondary schools, primary schools, Family Team, Corporate Team and Special/OKU team.
Being a Fun Run, all finishers will receive a medal and certificate at the finish line. There will be also attractive lucky draw prizes including motorcycles, ICE watches, hand phones and hampers.

The Run, organized by HELP University and Redberry Sdn Bhd, in conjunction with Malaysia Day will be flagged off by YB Senator P. Waythamoorthy, the Minister of National Unity and Social Well-
Being.

The top three finishers in each category will each take home cash prizes of RM500, RM300 and RM100 respectively.

There will also be entertainment in the form of stage performances, cultural dances and cheerleaders from HELP University.

*OCBC KL Car Free Morning – held over a 7km route from 7am to 9am every first and third Sunday of the month starting at Dataran DBKL near Dataran Merdeka.
