Enough With The Self Pity!

So... you guys who ran the Energizer Night Race 2012 on Apr 21st checked your results yet? Check it out over at Hooha. I'm still stung over my "I wish it could be better" run but enough about me and me wallowing in self-pity.

A quick post to congratulate my fellow online runner friends who also enjoyed the night run last week.

Woohoo to Nick for his awesome run. 1 hour 26minutes and with 26th placing. He is in the top 2%! How awesome is that? Pebbles must be so proud to wear your medal, Nick! ^^

Big shout-out to Kah Yen too, at the top 25%. Respect! :)

For Neoh - congrats for another sub6 hour full marathon. Furthermore in VFF! SCKLM will be a breeze for you, I bet! :)

And for me? heh heh. Here's how I fared:
Can see or not? There... No. 132. 132!!! Big numbers. Woo! Bwahaha

Better do better and get something less than 120 if I want to get any medal during the Larian Bomba on May 6th! Oh, the pressure. I think I do better when I just run and just happen to arrive the finish line instead of being all serious and technical about it. Life's too short to worry much.

  2. 132? If I had to do that race, that's the number of times I'd collapse within the first 2 km.

You finished despite being sick. Not your best ever, but good enough. Says I.

PS: I saw an ekiden at the Hoohasia site! Ekiden? Relay race? You use the Japanese word? :D

    1. LOL. Yeah, right. xD

Yup, we used the Japanese word.

Ask most runners here, they'd know what ekiden is, despite not knowing the origin of the word. ;)

    1. Good for you.

So.. you gonna run with your VFF in June? Getting a new pair for it? :)

I bet you can do both - run SCKLM in VFF & achieve sub5. Good luck Neoh!

    2. I hope so...
The ENR2012 didn't worn a hole in the VFF outsole, so I will use the same pair...

Eying on a bicycle, budget on running gear will be diverted :P

    4. errr... I will sink into pool...
      can't swim :P

the idea of getting a bicycle is to commute from home to office, only 11km each way. But the traffic is so bad, I think I can cycle faster than I drive to office x(

    5. That's so cool!

I saw a few cyclists with their bikes here at Mid Valley area. Of course, most of them are Mat Salleh. xD

      Cycle safely Neoh!

    1. Ahahaha... even if I DNF (did not finish) I'd still be in the list. xD

  11. yes, life is too short to worry too much!! just go for it!! and hope you'll be in Top 20 in your next run (like what you did in one of your race, i remember you were #12 right??)..

    1. Last time #10 lah. Bib number was #11. kikiki

Top 20 in Larian Bomba or Standard Chartered KL Marathon? I would keel over and die with happiness lah if I got that! Those two races are extremely popular with elite Malaysian runners.

You know, Veteran runners can finish a 10K at 40 minutes. My PR (personal record) was 67minutes. How to even be in top 50? xD

  12. anyway, i really salute those who can run long distance without stopping.. i have very weak stamina, so maybe in less than 1KM i'm already about to collapse~~ :p

    1. Me too! Especially those who can do 42K and Ultras like its a morning stroll. ;p

You want to collapse because you sprint the whole kilometre mah! Try run slowly like me, sure can tahan a few more KMs. ;)

    1. Not saying. Why book the last one? The last one was for those who did not finish lar... xD

    2. Haha, I sure cannot finish one. Maybe run for 200m and got tired, find a place to sit by the road side and start cheering for other contestants.

*200m is the max I can go during my school time.

      Delete
    3. 200m you sprint one. For this distance, we just jog jog a little only. Penat that time, stop and walk lor... hahahah

Of course, I talk only. When kena walk, sad like mad because not macho to fake a run. hu~

  17. Congrats to everyone who completed the run! You did extremely well compared to me, I cannot even run 100m. :(

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yes, maybe you'll do better by just running and enjoying instead of analyzing haha!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. But I like analysing too.kakaka

Only maybe I shouldn't do it during a race lah... doing it on training runs beats boredom, fatigue and the might be monotony of doing loops. ;)
