Getting Lucky At Luckin Kopi

Image
On one of the few rare occasions that we did a "jalan-jalan cari makan" in the KL city area, we stumbled upon a newly opened kopitiam called Luckin Kopi just a stone's throw away from Pasar Seni MRT station (and also nearby the Pasar Seni LRT station).
Luckin means "fortune", which is closely related with the Oranda; a breed of goldfish that is regarded as "the flower of the water".
And you can see a goldfish in Luckin Kopi logo.
We arrived during the peak lunch hour period and there was a queue forming outside the shop. But nothing to worry, as Luckin Kopi staff were quick to assist us in getting a queue number and later our table.
Our table was located on the first floor and to get up, we go up this old-style wooden stairs. So nostalgic.
And indeed, the place brimmed with the nostalgic feel of old shop-houses we used to see when we were younger. So while we wait for our order to arrive, we just enjoyed to opportunity to look around and soak in the …

Miyagi For A Treat

Image
This was sometime back, a random reward for the three of us and we decided to head to Miyagi Japanese Restaurant in Bangi for dinner.
It's our favourite Japanese restaurant and the food served here are all value for money, with its generous portions. Highly recommended if you're nearby Bandar Baru Bangi area.
Anyhoo...  I ordered Salmon Teppanyaki.
 Hubby ordered omuraisu.
And Son ordered Beef Teppanyaki.
It was a nice dinner and we left the restaurant feeling completely full.

CHIN MEI SEE MAKES HISTORY AS THE ONLY FEMALE MALAYSIAN AT 2019 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII KUALA LUMPUR (20 NOVEMBER 2019): Chin Mei See can be regarded as one of the most inspiring Malaysian female athletes of 2019.
She may not be as popular as some of the mainstream athletes like Farah Ann Abdul Hadi (gymnast) or Leong Mun Yee (diving) who have qualified to the Tokyo Olympics next year, but Mei See is a legend in her own right after becoming the only Malaysian female to qualify for the 2019 VEGA Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, which was held recently from October 11-13, 2019.
The 41-year-old booked her berth to IRONMAN’s pinnacle showpiece this year in splendid fashion too, when she finished 1st place in her age group at the highly competitive field during the 2018 IRONMAN Gurye Korea.
Fast forward a year, and the RC Coaching graduate held her own amongst the world’s finest triathletes to finish 60th in her age group with a time of 12:08:06.

Runcation - Pahang Eco Beach Run 2020

Image
There's an interesting race in Kuantan, Pahang that caught our eyes. It's called the Pahang Eco Beach Run and will be held on Apr 12, 2020. Pahang Eco Beach Run 2020 race course traverses through the white sandy beach and beautiful pine trees line the coast, with some rocky promontories facing the incessant waves of the South China Sea and beautiful trails of Bukit Pelindung.

The race will start and finish at Teluk Cempedak, there will be variety of surface waiting for runners. Tarmac, beach and trail.

Now, we don't often get to run on all sort of surfaces so we're quite excited to join the event and visit Kuantan too!

I've even booked Hyatt Kuantan for us to stay and relax, after we finished our race. The hotel is just steps away from the race site, after all.

There are three race distance available, 6K, 15K and 30K.

Let's have a look at the course and elevation if you can't decide which distance to register for.
The 6K category covers tarmac and trail se…

Sunday Brunch At Hanare Japanese Restaurant

Image
After my tower run at Yayasan TM Tower Run (race recap here), we didn't linger long at the race site despite plenty of goodies that were available, from the event's sponsors.
We rushed home for me to shower because we needed to head out again, and this time to Intermark Mall. We're trying out Hanare Japanese Restaurant Sunday brunch!
A good reward for the hardwork I did, climbing 54 floors of Menara TM, no?
We were there just as it was opening its door for the brunch session at 12pm, and there were already many diners waiting eagerly to start their meal.
The restaurant ambiance was nice and cosy, and Hanare Japanese Restaurant certainly isn't a place where you get a few hundred other fellow diners jostling to join the buffet line with you!
No, Hanare has a very classy feeling and you won't feel rushed at all here.
Just take it easy, enjoy the brunch until it's 2pm, which we did! We first  made a beeline to the teppanyaki counter where the wagyu beef are.
Apart…

Climbing Up 54 Floors of TM Tower, Powered By Potatoes USA!

Image
Last Sunday was a hectic day for us. Hubby and I woke super early because we had three events to attend, and all before noon!
First, we were already up and about at 6 am as I joined the Good Earth Run held at MAEPS, Serdang.  Fortunately my second event for the morning; which was the Yayasan TM International Tower Run had Potatoes USA as one of the sponsors and participants enjoyed free-flow servings of their super delicious mashed potatoes with gravy and also potato with blue berry energy drink throughout the event. I queued three times to enjoy this!
The mashed potatoes was so fluffy and light, a perfect pre-run or pre-workout breakfast. And the potato with blue berry energy drink was so refreshing.
With yummy breakfast in my tummy, it was time for some warm up before my climb.
Yayasan TM International Tower Run 2019 offered participants with 200m elevation climb up 1,296 steps in six (6) categories – Men's Open (aged 18 years and above), Women's Open (aged 18 and above), M…
