Elevate Your Performance, In Style With Rudy Project

Rudy Project Malaysia Brunei had a product launch and concept store opening at Jaya Shopping Centre on Friday, Oct 31 2014.
I am not yet a user of Rudy Project so I thought I should go see and check out what's all the fuss about this brand. Anyways, Rudy Project is a company that offers a wide range of sunglasses, helmets, goggles among others. A product widely known by athletes and weekend warriors too. I arrived early and after registering myself and waiting for other guests and VIPs to arrive, decided to check out their concept store. Was shown a number of their products by this really helpful fella... and I was seriously smitten by this model. Its removable insert easily snaps in and out of its frame. COOL! Back to the launch - Rudy Project Malaysia launched the Lifestyle model; Sensor for men and Broomstyk for women with minimalist, decisive and striking design.
And the impactx2 unbreakable photochromic optics. We were shown how durable the lenses are - with a hammer, no les…

Been hankering for some raw veges and the mix rice stall that I always frequent during lunch doesn't really have anything to offer in terms of salad or the Melayu term... ulam.
So I got this for lunch today and enjoyed it thoroughly. A pack of supermarket bought salad and with a black pepper quarter chicken added, and it cost me RM10.00 Not that much cheaper than a serving of salad bought at Tony Roma's which, after discount cost me about RM11.75. ^^ Anyways, I think I need to find an excuse to eat Thai food so I can eat this too, soon. Hehehe Yummy!

Oh yeah... can't wait for Saturday so me and the family can go eat at a nearby Ikan Bakar stall and I get to enjoy eating like a whole bunch of ulam there! Petai included. *rub hands*

2 More Months Left - My Race Calendar

Let's see... We're approaching November soon. Two months left before we enter the year 2015! I can't help to review and look back at my running activities and to plan for next year's. ^^ So these are the ones I did and will do in 2014. Only 18 races registered and I plan to register for the Newton Challenge as part of training at the end of December.
Rather an eclectic mix of distances ran this year, some I did alone, a few I ran with hubby and a few I did with the family.
This was errmmm... somewhat an improvement from last year. I registered for 25 races in 2013!
25 races sure cost me a pretty penny! It really was a bummer when I can't run in some of them (what we call a DNS) due to race postponement, commitment or injuries.
I can be rather prone to want to run in races for the company and for the crowd and sometimes that made me register for races on a whim, provided that it fits in my training plan.
Like the CAPAM race that I registered 2 days before the even…

Food Court Favourite

Once a week, I would head probably to Oasis Food Court in Mid Valley to eat something hearty for dinner. Son doesn't like the place but he begrudgingly agrees to go with me there. And I'd go somewhere he'd prefer on other nights as we usually spend Tuesday and Thursday evening together having our Mom & Son "date". ^^ Pan mee! Halal pan mee. And the kick is the chilli. If I don't have that chilli sauce, this pan mee would taste just so-so.
Taste wise; well... it had deteriorated from what it was when the food court was located just above where Gardens Cafe is located now, before it moved to the current location.
But I still visit the stall. The stall used to have a good prawn mee too but not really good for my taste anymore.  This is another favourite place of mine to have dinner. And I almost always order the same thing. Plus other favourites like beef bulgogi and tteokbokki.
Not located in a food court. It's at LG floor of Gardens Mall. Ko Hyang is…

Thai Food For Lunch

A rather simple Thai food lunch with colleagues last week...
At Amarin Heavenly Thai in Mid Valley.
Long time haven't been there already.
Took some photo but after we started eating, I actually kinda forgot to take a few too. Busy eating lah! LOL  The starter - we ordered the combo platter. Love this!

We wanted to order the Mieng Kam too but the manager told us it's not available due to rainy season. No daun kaduk stock during rainy season? Thai green curry with fishball. Not the usual off-the-shelves fishball la. The fishball is nice, even had a bit of salted egg as a filling.
Not really a fan of this though. I think I prefer the chicken version better. Of course must eat tomyam - and this one, seafood punya. Halfway eaten, only remember to take photo but still wanna take! Muahaha Stir fried duck. Quite nice and tender, It was a first time experience of eating duck for a few of my colleagues. To end the lunch, red ruby! Refreshing!
They don't have all the credit ca…

Coffee For Me, Coffee For The Tree

It just rhymes, that's all. Hahaha
Anyway, been hankering for some overpriced coffee for ages and finally indulged on one (or make that two) on Friday since it rained heavily that evening and we didn't want to get soaked going to our parked car.
So, we lepaked at Starbucks after dinner and a stop at Borders in Bangsar Village.  A dark caramel latte and French vanilla latte. The boys shared the French Vanilla latte while Mommy had the dark caramel latte all to herself. Hihihi
Small Kucing's Mamarazzi told us some time ago about using coffee grounds for plants and there was a pack of used coffee grounds for anyone to take for free at Starbucks too. Big pack!
The plant that Mamarazzi gave us a few months ago is still thriving so Mommy decided to take the pack home.
Never bothered about all this coffee grounds before as we didn't plant anything prior to getting some plants as a gift. Hehehe Coffee grounds for our garden.
Well, I don't have a garden, only one plant. ^^ …

A Fun Day Running In Races

A fun day out running may mean something different for each runner.
Some would be happy only if they win. Or improve their timing.
Some would be happy if they achieve their target.

Some would be happy raking up mileage.(Which some of us call as"tamak mileage" HAHAHA)
And some would be happy just going out and have fun, running and sharing the joy with like-minded people.

Some would be happy achieving part of what's listed above, if not all. ;-)
Those joy are always captured by hardworking photographers and also fellow runners and are the memories we can share with others.

And some of those joyous moment for me : Standard Chartered KL Marathon photo collage, as seen on my FB timeline - photos taken and tagged by friends. ^^
Another collage, at River Jungle Marathon that we did last month, in September. Awesome awesome, fun and crazy experience. Try running uphill for 3km from KM20 onwards and then another 2km after already doing 32km.
At Back 2 Endurance 12-hour in June…

Pickled Snake Fruit

The Kucing Family, specifically the Mamarazzi had so kindly passed to me a huge bottle of pickled snake fruit apart from keropok lekor when they went back to Terengganu a few weeks (a month?) before.
Mamarazzi knows I love snake fruit or known locally as salak fruit, be it eaten fresh or pickled. She sure is kind. THANK YOU!!! These sure are addictive, I tell you.
I have just a few of it left and then... no more pickled salak until we (or someone.... muka tembok) buys them for us again!
Next time Mamarazzi goes back to Terengganu, must ask her to buy and belanja her makan!

The Best Food When I Dunno What To Eat Is...

When I need to eat and can't really make a decision on what to eat, the safest bet is always :
Nasi goreng!

Fried rice!

And this one is Nasi Goreng Kampung, eaten with a huge dollop of sambal belacan on the side. It sure can open up my appetite!

How about you? ^^

Steamboat & Grill For Recovery

After a 42K run two weeks ago and a 22K run last week, nothing beats some recovery meal and that means protein!
Usually I'd go for some satay (I've posted about satay preciously, if you noticed) but this time we wanted some steamboat. The cold, rainy nights that we're experiencing currently sure warrants for something warm and hot. We went to the usual place we go in Bandar Baru Bangi called Steamboat Antarabangsa. Simple, steamboat & grill affair but for the price, I feel it's totally worth the value.
All-you-can-eat at RM27.00 for adults and RM15.00 for children 5-12 years.
But we weren't really there for the steamboat items, that's actually the side dish. Hahaha This is the highlight. The grill items and specifically grilling lamb. Wahahaha....

Yeah, of course we ate some fish, chicken, beef, veges... but if I'm not mistaken we had like four or five rounds of lamb. Nyam nyam...

Nothing beats a complete meal by enjoying some ABC and ice cream. …

A Weekend Recovery And A Training 22K Run In Putrajaya

was the intention when I signed up for CAPAM (Commonwealth Association of Public Administrator & Management) International Run this Sunday.
It was a pretty last minute decision and I actually signed up on Friday, after seeing Gme's update on Facebook that it's still open for registration. It matched with my training plan which requires me to do a 21K run this weekend. Didn't matter that I was unable to follow the rest of the week's plan, making this 22K run my only run this week.

The catch was, I had to do manual registration at the race kit collection centre located at YWCA in Jalan Hang Jebat.  I was lucky one of my running friends was heading there and helped me to register. Thank you! ^^
The morning of the run started ominously. I slept early the night before, without having dinner so I woke up with a tell-tale sign of having gastritis. Ain't exactly a comfortable sensation as my chest was still feeling tight and painful even after I had my breakfast of a…

Relax And Chill

cos it's TGIF! I should be looking forward to sit back and enjoy the weekend. Hihihi
But weekend is kinda hectic nowadays. I usually have assignments that I want to finish and submit by Saturday morning so I usually stay up on Friday night.
Then of course there's the running thing.
After last Sunday's full marathon at Standard Chartered KL Marathon, I just signed myself up for a 22km run in Putrajaya this Sunday.
Have a great weekend ahead, y'all! :-)

A Holiday In The City Centre

The Saturday before Standard Chartered KL Marathon was held, Son had to attend a Saturday at his school.
Seeing that we need to send him to school and then collect our race kit at the Underground of Dataran Merdeka, I reserved a hotel room so that we could make it like a short vacation; even if its in right smack in Kuala Lumpur! It was pretty much a last minute decision, as I only made the booking on Friday night. Good thing there was still room available the Pacific Express Hotel.
I chose the hotel due to its close proximity to the start/finish line of Standard Chartered KL Marathon and paying RM150++ for a superior room with a view was good for me. A nice treat for the whole family too, as I feel it'd be tough for hubby to immediately drive home after finishing our full marathon on Sunday morning. Setting off early Saturday morning. Gotta send Son to school first!
We then spent about two hours walking in Lake Garden and then we walked from Lake Garden to Dataran Merdeka to col…

New Route, New Kind Of Fun At SCKLM 2014

I have to admit, I have been tirelessly (or some would say, rather tiresome) in posting about the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2014 and all that blog updates came to a finale on Sunday, Oct 12th when Kuala Lumpur was swarmed with 35,000 runners. It's a sight to behold and an experience to cherish. Both hubby and I ran in the full marathon category. A month plus after our full marathon in River Jungle Marathon. Kinda suicidal since we hadn't had much mileage a month leading to this Standard Chartered KL Marathon (SCKLM) apart from a hike to Nuang a day before my birthday, a 5K run at BOH Highlands Run a week after that.

I only managed to do a few short runs ranging from 3-5K last week and no mileage at all until the marathon. Hahaha Adoi.

Anyways, we just plan to run and finish. Well, we did, didn't we? So, yeay us. LOL

SCKLM 2014 sees a new route and featured two elevated highways. Full closure of two elevated highways. Now, full road closure is a novelty in running her…
