PARIE Goat Milk Powder For Our Furkids

A week ago, a special package arrived to our doorstep. It's something for our two not-so little furballs and it's a tin of Parie Goat Milk! These two rascals are very picky eaters and simply refuse certain food such as chicken so we do get worried about them meeting their nutritional needs.
Anyhoo, these two were rescued when they were just a week old from being stuck under a car. We spent our days feeding them goat milk as replacement for their Mommy's milk before we managed to get them reunited with the Mommy cat.
You can read about the rescue in our post:  They sure have grown well, haven't they?
Now, they are almost 2 years old (gonna be 2 this March!), we've upgraded them to PARIE Goat Milk.
And we're using the milk as standby for any rescue kittens that we might find as we also feed other stray cats in the neighbourhood. PARIE's goat milk carries similarities as breastfe…

Enjoying Luwak Coffee At Harley's

It seems that it has been a norm for us to stop  at Harley's in Cyberjaya everytime we were there.
Of course, the reason we were in Cyberjaya was usually race related and it was no different last week.
After collecting our race kit for Twincity Marathon on Saturday, January 19th; we chose to have dinner at Harley's. You can read about our very first visit there, here.
We had been making several repeat visits after that. This time, Hubby ordered 2X2 burger and for an additional RM7 for combo set, got a glass of Ice Lemon Tea and Potato Salad. I had my usual, the Yunnan Peaberry latte.
It just so happen that Farid (who attended to us on our very first visit) was there so we decided to have another round of coffee, made by him. We asked for his recommendation and there were a few beans available that are not on the menu and we decided to try the Luwak coffee.

If you're a coffee lover and is in the area (they do have another outlet at DC Mall), why not stop here and check wha…

Kids Dash at Twincity Marathon 2020

Last weekend was the Twincity Marathon weekend, and I wrote my race recap of my 21K run here.
The 5K, 12K, 21K (Half Maraton) and 42K (Full Marathon) were held on Sunday, January 19th 2020.
On Saturday, it was time for the kids the shine at the Kids Dash with 3K and 1K categories offered to children age 5 - 15.
Just like last year, we were there again.

And we made a video of the flag-off and finishing for both categories.
Aren't the kids simply awesome?
Some photos taken during Kids Dash on Saturday and of HM and FM runners on Sunday can be viewed at our Facebook page Cik Arnab & En Kura-Kura.
We'll be taking photos of the kids dash again at KL Standard Chartered Marathon in June! (I hope)

KUALA LUMPUR STANDARD CHARTERED MARATHON 2020 SELLS OUT IN SEVEN (7) HOURS 45,000 Runners Expected at Dataran Merdeka Over Race Weekend

Kuala Lumpur, Thursday: The 12th edition of premier distance running event, the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM), which takes place on 13 and 14 June 2020 at Dataran Merdeka has sold out public registrations for all available categories in a record seven (7) hours. This was despite Dirigo Events, the owner and organiser of KLSCM, introducing specific new criteria for its priority registrations that allowed for more race entries to be made available for the public registrations.

These criteria included either having participated in KLSCM at least five times previously or having recorded competitive finishing times in their preferred category in either of the last two years of KLSCM. For example, male runners were only eligible for priority registrations if they had recorded a sub-4 hour timing for a Full Marathon, or sub-2 hour timing for …

Tendon Kohaku - The First Tendon Specialty Restaurant Is Now In Malaysia.

Last Friday, we went to Lot 10 to try out this rather special Japanese outlet called Tendon Kohaku. Located at J's Gate Dining, Level 4 Lot 10, it was a nice stop for us after a shop of shopping there.
Getting to Lot 10 and its surrounding area is pretty easy as there are plenty of public transportation option. For us, we took the LRT from Abdullah Hukum Station to KL Sentral then the monorail direct to Lot 10. No need to drive there lah!

At the moment, Tendon Kohaku is a pork-free and lard-free restaurant and they do intend to apply for halal status in the future.
The outlet at J's Gate Dining is their first outlet in KL and they do plan to open their second outlet at Tropicana Mall in March 2020.
Friendly staff at Tendon Kohaku.
The tendons available.

Very helpful for those not familiar with tendon or tempura dishes. You can ask the staff for recommendation too!

We decided to order the Kohaku Tendon (because it comes with prawns, chicken breast, squid, crab stick, Shiitake …

The Making Of Barcook Raisin Cream Cheese Bun

Last week, I was lucky enough to visit the kitchen of Barcook Bakery to see how their Signature Raisin Cream Cheese bun were made.
It's not often I get a chance, so I was pretty excited. Their Signature Raisin Cream Cheese buns were among other best-selling items of the bakery that were sold more than 100,000 pieces per year!
For the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration, Barcook Bakery also offers a number of festivities goodies.
Their smooth and creamy original kaya or pandan kaya.
Their Signature Peanut Butter Cookies is a must have for CNY! Made with freshly roasted peanuts, it  sure is 'melt in your mouth' goodness! What an ideal gift for this festive occasion.
Fancy some dark chocolate cookies instead?
Or perhaps some Almond Nibs cookies?

All sure look yummy to me.

After checking out the CNY goodies, it's time to learn how the baker made Barcook Bakery Signature Raisin Cream Cheese bun.

Let's watch the video and see how it's done together!

Twincity Marathon 6th Edition

So, Twincity Marathon was back for its 6th edition last week and it was our fifth time joining the event. We skipped the first edition and joined it in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. I myself had done 4 half marathons and a full marathon at Twincity Marathon. I had a Twincity HM personal best (PB) of 2:34 back in 2016 and a full marathon personal worst (PW) ever at 7:02.
You can read the drama of the HM PB here. The timing here and the subsequent ones enabled me to achieve my first sub2:30 HM later at Seremban Half Marathon, and later shaved another 8 minutes off Seremban Half timing at TM Fan Run.
The drama of doing a PW FM can be read here. Wakaka
Anyhoo, there was also the Kids Dash event held on Saturday, apart from the main event with 5K, 12K, HM and FM on Sunday.
It was super fun to also witness the Kids Dash as I love taking photos of them running. RACE DAY
There was weirdly no drama whatsoever before I was flagged-off for my half marathon this time. The half marathon catego…

Enjoying Ayam Geprek At Kampung Station

"Ayam Geprek? What's that?", asked my colleague when I told her that I was going to try Ayam Geprek.

According to Wikipedia (just to be safe):
"Ayam geprek is an Indonesian crispy battered fried chicken crushed and mixed with hot and spicy sambal. Currently ayam geprek is commonly found in Indonesia and neighbouring countries, however its origin was from Yogyakarta in Java.

Geprek is Javanese term for "crushed" or "smashed", thus ayam geprek means "crushed chicken". It is quite similar to traditional East Javanese ayam penyet, as both are fried chicken smashed and mixed together with hot and spicy sambal chili paste.

The difference is ayam penyet is a traditional Javanese ayam goreng half-cooked in bumbu kuning (yellow spice paste) and then deep fried in hot palm oil. Ayam geprek however, is more akin to Western-style (American) fried chicken, which is crispy fried chicken coated with batter, or known in Indonesia as ayam goreng tepung (…

Year-End Party At Tree House

We went to Tree House at Mont Kiara for a year-end party with Hubby's colleagues after work on Friday, Dec 20th.
It was nice to meet his colleagues and their families as I also had dealt/worked with some of them previously. (And hopefully in future too!)
We had the whole upper floor to ourselves so it was quite nice to just and mingle around while waiting for our food to arrive.  We had Nachos Libre which was really nice and portion was BIG! Plus Sweet Potato Fries that looked like it can easily feed 10! LOL After enjoying those two dishes, I wasn't feeling particularly hungry so Hubby did the ordering for me and he ordered this Cheesy Steak Sandwich.
Quite sedap and the beef was really tender, but I could only managed to eat half and "sub-con" the rest to Son to finish. Son had the Big Beefy Burger. And Hubby had the Tandoori Chicken Burger.
Food was served rather slow but fortunately we were enjoying each other's company so didn't really mind the slow serv…
