Affordable Western Fares At Dapoq Street

It was by chance that we stumbled upon this restaurant in Alam Damai Cheras. We actually went there looking for Laksa Sarawak but alas, the stall wasn't open and we were driving around and decided to try out this place.   We were there just after Maghrib prayers and fret not... the place also has surau available for patrons.
Customers were coming in steadily that night so I guess the shop is quite well-known although they've only just relocated to the current shop late last year. What piqued our interest was their promo outside their shop for their budget chicken chop and fish & chips at RM5.90. The budget fish & chips. It uses those frozen fish fillets type la...
Hubby wanted a light dinner so he ordered this.
For RM5.90, OK what. Son ordered the Spicy Black Panther set. For RM13.90, it came with curly fries (doused in cheese sauce no less) and ice lemon tea.
Good value.
Be warned. The Spicy Black Panther burger which is a chicken burger is really spicy!  I ordered t…

Cross Country For Son & Mom

We were up early on Saturday because Son had a cross-country event at his school.  He did quite well with a pretty decent timing that Mommy is proud of.
The cross-country run was also open to public (parents, alumni, etc) and I signed up to run in it. Might as well la kan, give support to the school.
We later head off for brunch at Benji's to celebrate our run. Son ordered Eggsciting, with scrambled eggs on top of a multigrain toast. His Eggsciting.
While Mommy and Daddy ordered Big Breakfast.
A huge breakfast for Mommy so she asked Son to help her finish it afterwards. ^^
Thank God for growing son and his growing appetite. Hehehe The brunch at Benji's was also part of celebrating Mommy's win. She managed to become champion for Women Open! Hahaha
Very rare occasion as she usually is not at all competitive and would rather enjoy her run in leisure.

Dunno what got into her, when she went and hit 5min plus pace. Adui.

She managed to finish 4th overall behind 3 men and one w…

A Stroll In Taman Wawasan Putrajaya

We haven't been spending much time outdoors, enjoying the many parks Putrajaya has to offer like we used to lately.
But we managed to do it over the Chinese New Year weekend, for a nice stroll at Taman Wawasan Putrajaya.
The park is located sandwiched between the Custom Dept & MOF on one side and Wisma Putra on another.
We used to frequent this park quite a bit because of its accessibility (we would park under the bridge near the PjH building) and start our stroll there.
Taman Wawasan has plenty of hills and stairs for a nice workout and I used to do my hill session there, in the otherwise flattish route around the core island of Putrajaya.  A nice jog by the lakeside before we head up the hilly section of Taman Wawasan. I've written about the many plants and trees around Putrajaya and of course the fruits those trees bear. It's always quite fun to go around Putrajaya, see the locals trees that were being planted (some are not familiar to most of us) and of course, m…

Dinner At Penang Road Famous Teochew Cendol

I needed to go out and buy some stationeries to support a friend's (Rudy) effort at I Do Care where they are collecting stationeries (colour pencils, pencils, erasers, etc for refugees. He is also involved with Read Now Street Library and they accept new/used books, magazines, stationeries from members of public and also cash contributions.
Rudy, while not working full time and selflessly spending his time helping the needy is also an accomplished ultra runner and ha just completed HK100 Ultra in Hong Kong and TNF100 in Thailand. Congrats Rudy on your recent race! Anyhoo, here we were in Mines Shopping Center and we dropped by the newly opened Mr. D.I.Y. located on Level 4.
Afterwards, we enjoyed our lunch at Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendol. We opted not to order from the promotional meal of RM18.90 because we wanted cendol and ordered a-la carte.
Hubby had Penang Curry.
Son had Nasi Lemak Ayam Kunyit (didn't look to appetising to me). Son remarked that the sambal tasted a…

Dinner At Upeh

It was Friday and the family & I were at the Gardens Mall. I actually wanted to eat Nasi Bukhari at Madam Kwan's (and utilise Standard Chartered Bank's Buy 1 Get 1 Free Nasi Bukhari promo everyFriday) but the waiting queue was loooong...
So after walking around, we decided to have our dinner at Upeh. I decided to splurge on m drinks and ordered Kedondong drinks (RM12.90) *gasps*.
But sedaplah. Me likey.

The two boys were more prudent and rational and they ordered Teh O Ais or something. I ordered the Nasi Lemak Rainforest with Beef Rendang.
Didn't look all that "rainforestry" to me. Hehehe
But the beef rendang was good and the nasi lemak was indeed flavourful. Hubby had the Le Medina Pilau Rice.
And Son had the Chicken Ball Soup Soto.

Upeh's ambiance was nice although service was a tad slow.

For RM90++ for dinner for three, it wasn't exactly cheap but OKlah, splurge once in a while. Eat at Plan B much more expensive anyway. :P
