The Mileage

I know. I know.

I probably bore you guys to death with constant chatter on my running. Bear with me, peeps. Can't help to talk (or post) incessantly about it. ^^

2013 is a mixture of running,  spending time on the bike at home and some walking. I walked and cycled more when I somehow managed to injure my foot during the Ramadhan month.

Have absolutely and completely ignored strength training and I will try to do some in 2014. Strong core = strong runner!

A look at my mileage in 2013.
Run
Walk (no, mall walks or walking to work don't count)
Cycle

1,286km ran.

203.32km walked.

 198.44km cycled.

At some point, I've just didn't bother updating my Dailymile.

Nothing much but let's see how I fare in 2014, yeah? I'm gonna try aim for 2014km in 2014! Let's run happy!

Anway, since I've been quite the lazy bum these past few months, I thought joining a challenge might be the antidote to spur me on to run more.

So...
Let's do this!

Join me? Jom? ^^

Gonna try and pile up a bit of mileage this Saturday night as I only hiked and walked and did just a bit of running these past two days in 2014. ^^

    1. Thambee is very impressed to see those statistics you have.. 1,286km ran 203.32km walked and 198.44km cycled in year 2013!! hey, it's actually quite cool to keep track of your total mileage for the year huh??

    2. maybe i should also get an apps, or at least jot down my readings on treadmills etc in the gym, and then give it up a total!! hahaha.. let's say if i brisk walk for a 2.5km every time i hit the gym, maybe 3 times a week, then i would have like 390km!!! woot woot, more hebat than you~~ :D

    3. hmmmm, this seems to be a better motivation in order to hit that mileage instead of just nagging myself to hit the gym more often.. agree??

    4. You know, there those expensive sports watches that has GPS or foot pod to keep track of your mileage and then sync into your account (be it the watch training page) or on sites like Dailymile.

Smart phone pun can keep track. No need to key-in. Just get the apps. (tho I guess it's a different app/gadget for gym goers)

  3. This SK copy my tag Kah? Run Lina Run!

I am also impressed with your self chart. I had never seen anyone doing this for themselves. Run Walk & Cycle activities!

Some lazy people need to make a chart of themselves for Eat, Sleep & TV. They sound like potatoes.

    1. that's not self chart la Anay. There are sites where you can log-in your mileage available like the one I use. ;-)

  4. The closest jotting I ever made was a daily mental note of my cycling and walking on treadmills in the gym, weeks before any trips to visit mountains. It is actually necessary like what your charts have done to highlight on our goals. I wonder how your chart was made?

    1. Smartphone has apps you can use. Endomondo and Runkeeper are two popular ones.

I sync my watch to Timex training site to upload my training details that's stored in my watch. Nike has them. Polar and Garmin too, to mention a few.

It's good to monitor mileage, effort, heart rate etc for training purposes. :-)

Compared to me, you have walk a long way. As for me, lazy even to walk to the park which take about 2 minutes from the house. Lol!

    1. You are no couch potato ECL!

In fact, you're so active with the events around Singapore. *envy and respect*

No... This is far from professional runner training. This is one pale comparison to what professional runners do. Pale compared to most of my marathoner friends, even. ^^

  10. lina, happy new year to you and your family.

I run 3 to 4 times a week on the treadmill, each time 1 hour at least, burn 500 calories for 7km the most.

Now, I try new way when I run. I run for 5 mins at 6km/h, then change to 8km/h for 5 mins, then change again to 6km/h for 5 min,...... until full 1 hour.

You think this is interval good?

    1. It's all up to you. But maybe you can try run faster to challenge yourself? 10km for 1 hour shoukd be eady for you? ;-)

    2. And oh, instead of just monitoring speed, you also adjust the inclines right? At least that way you can mimic running outside where you may climb up hills and such.

      Have fun! :-)
