Look Back - A Year Before MCO
COVID-19 cases has been on the rise again which is of course worrying but I hope there won't be a nationwide MCO implemented again and we could still travel in the future especially for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha!
During the MCO and current RMCO, we've only traveled out of town once and that's to visit my father in my hometown.
We'll be traveling to Perlis this end of month, for both "cuti-cuti Malaysia" and to send Son to his matriculation centre in Arau. He'll be studying there until June next year.
We may not be able to travel much this year, but we sure are lucky to be able to do some travel prior to the implementation of MCO and before COVID-19 blows out.
In March 2019, we visited the Kansai region because I entered the Nagoya Women's Marathon. We managed to visit Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Nagoya and Mie.
In April 2019, we visited Langkawi and had an awesome time staying at The Danna, Langkawi.
In May 2019, during Ramadan month, we visited northern Kyushu - Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Nagasaki, Beppu and Oita. We even went up to Mount Aso and hiked along the Kyuhsu Olle, Kurume Korasan hiking course.
June was Raya month so we only traveled back to my hometown in Pahang.
We stayed put during the month of July. I joined the Hulu Langat Marathon in July though.

August saw us traveling to Pahang again. To Merapoh, to be specific. We also visited Gua Musang in Kelantan. We were there for The Magnificent Merapoh Trail 2019.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary and birthday in the month of September by vacationing in Krabi, Thailand.
October was a quiet month and we stayed in KL.
This was taken at the Usui Pass in Karuizawa in November 2019. You have Nagano Prefecture on one side and Gunma Prefecture on the other.
Taken in December 2019, off the Jogasaki Coast in Shizuoka. A birthday treat for our Son.
The week after, we visited Taiping, Perak. We were there for The TNF Malaysia Mountain Trail Festival 2019.
We visited Melaka in January 2020 and joined the Skyhawk Nature Run.
We visited Kyushu again, in February 2020 - this time to Kumamoto for Kumamoto Castle Marathon and also visited Kagoshima and Miyazaki.
Then the weekend after Kumamoto Castle Marathon, we traveled again but this time, to Cameron Highlands. We joined the Cameron Night Run and that was our last race before MCO took effect.
It is so nice to look back on the travels, right!? Nice! All the best to your son! A new adventure!
ReplyDeleteKuching over here is pretty bad, red zone now. Just waiting for official announcement on next course of action ie lockdown. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteNot planning to go anywhere this year if the situation is like this.
Good that you manage to visit your parents in hometown.
Hopefully more of is Malaysians are civic-minded and take this seriously.
