Balik Kampung Soon?
Half of the staff in my department will be on leave starting this Friday. Most of them are taking Monday and Friday off to, taking advantage of the three days public holiday starting on Tuesday - Thursday.
I bet there'll be massive jam as people start to "balik kampung" or return to their hometowns for the long holiday.
You guys going "balik kampung"? Or going a trip? Either way, have a safe journey! Don't forget to come back to work after the holiday! LOL
We'll be spending the first day of Raya in KL, celebrating it with Zaini's family first before heading off to my hometown in the afternoon. I sure hope Karak Highway will be clear and we'll have a smooth and jam-free journey.
Don't forget to bring your running stuff,who knows, you just might get the urge to run ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family an early Selamat Hari Raya and drive safe, ya.
@Nick,
ReplyDeleteI know! I may be crazy but I am starting to think about the route I might use to run, while in my hometown! LOL
Everyday also think about running routes nowadays. Kakaka
Thanks for the wish. You going to have a long weekend? Or office still open for business? xD
I will be going for a holiday in PJ, KL and maybe Melaka! Haha!! Think would prefer to be in KL during Raya as it is quieter than normal days : )
ReplyDeleteHave a great time!!!! :)
ReplyDelete@foong,
ReplyDeleteWah! Nice holiday. Kakaka
PJ - that's "far". Checking-in to a nice hotel? ;)
@peachie,
ReplyDeleteWe will! Thanks! :)
Best wishes for a Selamat Hari Raya, Lina. Travel safe!
ReplyDeleteDrive safefully (safely+carefully) this balik-ing kampung. Selamat Berpuasa and all the very best to you & family this coming Hari Raya.
ReplyDeleteMy boys in the office will be off the entire week. I'm on standy for Monday and Friday. If nothing comes up, I'll just stay home the entire week.
ReplyDeleteI think of running routes all the time wherever I go so don't worry, you're not the only crazy one ... hahaha!
Selamat Hari Raya to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip and post plenty of delectable raya goodies pics k :P
@HappySurfer,
ReplyDeleteYou too! If you are planning a journey, travel safe too. :)
@Bananazஇ,
ReplyDeleteLikewise. Have a safe journey if you are driving during the Raya exodus. :)
@Nick,
ReplyDeleteI see. So the boys got a week off, but the Boss still lurk around at the office? xD
Running routes - I know. Everytime we go out, I am always mentally mapping the route and checking out the pavement, the road width etc and contemplate whether it is good for running or not.LOL Good to know I'm with good company in this one. ;p
@sriyany,
ReplyDeleteYou too if you are planning for a trip. :)
Enjoy the long weekend! ^^
Well, my family and I are celebrating this year's Raya in our own home and not going back kampung.. Maybe we'll go back kampung during Raya Haji instead. I'm sure the jam would start on Friday.. Hope everybody will drive safely
ReplyDelete@Bella,
ReplyDeleteSo Raya here?
Yeah, the jam definitely will start Friday. On the other hand, can't wait to experience a quieter and jam-free road next week. ^^
Selamat hari Raya to you and family. :)
i balik kampung everyday lah my dear gadis, hahahaha!! because i'm local~~ :D
ReplyDeletei would think KL is the best place to stay during major festive, because many people will be going back hometown and leaving the city very quiet.. i like that~~ :p
ReplyDeletebut i guess i will not have a break for this coming raya.. am rushing to get my assignments done, what a pity.. haiz!! :(
ReplyDelete@SK,
ReplyDeleteSo lucky... everyday can balik kampung. ;)
Good luck in finishing those assignments of yours. Don't be naughty and decide to wander elsewhere. xD
Planning to visit any friends' house for the Raya?
Gadis Lina, SK is a very good boy, very disciplined to get his assignments done wokay??
ReplyDeletealso don't you think it's better to get all things done before you enjoy your life so that you don't have things to worry about??
ReplyDeletethat was why, during schooldays, SK always want to finish all his homework during the first couple of days so he can enjoy the holidays.. unlike many who wait till the last minute and get panicked when they can't finish - and stay up till late night on the school opening day eve.. haha!!
ReplyDeleteso you also off for the whole week ke?? meaning from saturday to the following sunday, wow, that's 9 days!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip! It's will be hard getting back to work after that looooooooong holiday :)
ReplyDeleteI have always liked this song by the late Sudirman,,"balik kampung oh oh oh balik kampung,oh oh oh balik kampung, hati girang"
ReplyDeletehave a nice and safe trip home,,,stop if you must ya
Hahahhhahhahahahhahaha... Can I laff louder? :P
ReplyDeleteBalik kampung exodus, where got road can be clear wan? Me wanna go anywhere oso think dunno how many times now. Scared get caught in the jam with the rest.. sigh...
Anyway, you have a safe journey home and enjoy your Raya holidays kay? :)
@SK,
ReplyDeleteWahhhh SK so good boy ah? So do your studying and assigment properly OK? Don't join the neighbourhood kids playing with mercun. xD
No lah, I didn't take any leave. Gotta save my leave to make sure I have enough to not be in office for almost 3 weeks in Nov & Dec! ;)
@jellybelly,
ReplyDeleteIt will definitely be hard. :)
@eugene,
ReplyDeleteThat is a great song to sing out aloud while traveling with family. Sure not bored of that song. :)
You and your family have a great Raya week and vacation too.
@Merryn,
ReplyDeleteWe are only starting our journey to my hometown on 1st Raya itself. Hopefully by then, all the people balik kampung are already safe and sound in their kampung and not on the road. :)
We will stay in K.L too, jst to avoid jam. Initially plan to visit Thailand but all the hotels already fully booked.:(
ReplyDeleteHappy Raya and have a great celebration!^^
@Alice,
ReplyDeleteWha! Hotels in Thailand fully booked?I wonder whether it's all by Malaysian tourists? ;p
Anyway, have a fun, long weekend! :)
An advance Selamat Hari Raya wishes to you and your family. Drive safe, run safe!
ReplyDelete@JAmie,
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Will do.
You have a great weekend. :)
That's very interesting! "Balik" is also a Filipino word for return! Relatives and neighbors!
ReplyDelete@webbielady,
ReplyDeletethere are several words that we share the same meaning, I believe. :)
