A Good Saturday

Saturday morning. Alarm set at 5.30am. Woke-up, dunno do what and only stepped out of the house at 6.40am, to get to the Lake Garden. There's a training group doing their runs every Saturday starting from this week in preparation for Gold Coast Airport Marathon... and I thought, what the heck. Join saja la.Join first, think about going for the marathon later.

Of course, late again la. Haish. We are normally VERY punctual people but when it comes to me running, we tend to run late every s.i.n.g.l.e time! I've stopped stressing about being on time and let things just slide nowadays. All the added stress from worrying is not good.
Despite being late and missing out on the group run, Jamie kept a free running vest for me! Thanks Jamie! Yeah, we stayed around and kaypoh with the group after they finished their run today. Nick was there. Yvonne too. Good to see Nick running and recovered from his injuries. Compared running shoes notes with them as I wanted to get a better pair of running shoes for myself.

We walked two loops around the lake so as a reward afterwards, had this for breakfast:
A hazelnut hot chocolate from Starbucks and a cornish pasties bought from a nearby bakeryin Bangsar Village - Hiestand (I adore this bakery!). Raimie and his Daddy had green tea frappucino. Pasties for the dad and two big donuts for Raimie!

After lepaking at Bangsar Village and walking around the shops area, off we went to Tropicana Mall. Mommy, who initially wanted to buy a discounted (60% off) Mizuno Wave Creation shoes at World of Sports somehow got attracted to another shoes.
Of course, it has to be a "New Arrival".  No discount. Because I'm worth it... katanya. Bwahaha

I tell you, I'm always a sucker for good service. Spent an hour there with "uncle" checking my gait and stuff & me trying a whole lot of shoes.
Registered us three for the "Pisang Relay" there at the Running Lab too. Yes, Raimie will be running in a 2 loops of 2.72km with Mommy and Daddy in May! It's a week after Borneo International Marathon.

Yeay us!

Tomorrow is Sunday and I can't wait to try out my new shoes!

Plus, Monday is a public holiday! Woot! Woot!

    1. The cornish pasties that we had were not from Starbucks. It's from Hiestand - a Swedish Gourmet bakery at Bangsar Village.

      They are very nice. :)

  4. I think you missed us by about 5 minutes. There's always next week, I think Jamie said it's the double hills route (MPIB). I'm looking forward to it!

Nice looking shoe, review after your run tomorrow, k :D

    1. MPIB route. Oooooo I'll make sure Zaini drives me early next week! :)

I shouldn't have suggested going over to Running Lab. Should've bought that cheap, past season Mizuno. Should've but didn't. No more shoes till after SCKLM! (See whether I'm disciplined enough) ;p

  5. Lina, I tried these shoes right after I bought my shoes, last week! Tapi I bukan beli Asics la. I saje2 suka nak try Asics (sebab tak pernah pakai Asics!) so Uncle RunningLab gave me the latest arrival to try on.
I punya kasut bukan latest arrival so ada diskaun sikit hehe.
    Esok lari Putrajaya?

    1. You tried it? How does it felt for you? I should've tried after buying a pair not before. Takde parah poket I! Hahaha

But I loved it the moment I put it on. No wonder Uncle had to ask whether I wanted to try it instead of pushing it to me from the start. ;p

Hubby grumbled a bot though. Masa PBIM ASICS voucher tak expire hari tu, takde lak sibuk2 nak beli ASICS. heee....

Sunday? Tak... LTdL Hotride and Kayuhan Ceria ke apa ke in Putrajaya on Sunday. And that Kayuhan Ceria uses core loop. Way too much bike traffic to run in peace.

I'll do my LSD tomorrow. And on Friday. And o Sunday. Semangat tak? ;p

    2. Uiii semangat sangat tu hehee....
Aina ajak LSD Isnin, I thought I wanted to run this morning (neighbourhood loop pun jadi la 10km ke) tapi lepas bangun 5.45am...switched on TV..tido balik hehe. Had a full day at my parents' yesterday and at times batuk ni lebih2 pulak.
See you if I see you *tomorrow* :)

    3. Hahaha... I pun woke up at 5.30am, terhegeh hegeh sana sini, last2 tido balik and only went out at 7.45am. Biasa lah, warm up mesti took ages for me and started runnning at 8am. Paneh!

Read you tweeted that the boys and the Dad pegi Nuang yesterday. Fuh! Whole family busy. What're they doing now? Recovery sleep? ;)

See you if I see you. I'll try and be a a good girl and start at a more "normal" time for 2moro's 20K. ;p

    4. Ha ah. They started hiking only at 9.30am (the plan was to start 7am!) sebab Izzo siap lambat, pastu had to make u-turn sebab baju bersih tertinggal atas kerusi kat living room.
But they managed to keep to hubby's estimated time. 6hours up, 6 hours down. They reached down 9.15pm! Izzo dah bangun, Amsyar tido lagi ni hehe
Okay I nak cuba jadi good girl jugak esok ni! :P

  7. I agree that we should not be stressed for being late. Wifey always grumbled when late for dinner functions. Adoi! Bising in the car all the way la. That was not end of the world yet. LOL

    1. Sometimes the delay is of no fault of ours. Rather than be stressed out and end up having sour face, just let it slide.

  8. Being punctual is the best thing always. So I just need to change my timing to be early. Early birds gets the worm.

    1. Zaini is 90% punctual. Too punctual that sometimes it annoys me because we end up waiting for others.

But for me running, HE always made me late. Cannot blame him also la. He wants to minimise his waiting time since he knows I don't run fast to finish. huhuhu

  9. I used to avoid Starbucks due to its pricing but after drinking so much at Old Town and Coffee Bean, I started to see the dirt and filthy toilets besides the bad service and blueks coffee....I better go to Starbucks. The sofas are better and I could sit there gossiping like a grandma for 4 hours.

    1. Yeah, pay extra $$$ at Starbucks for other stuff than coffee.

I like to lepak at Starbucks, chill on sofa, enjoy free internet & air-con too, Anay. :)

  10. I also gila shoes but I only have one pair of running shoes. I would buy casual shoes from Nike and Adidas for walking. Their cutting is comfortable.

    1. Now, I have 4.

Two for short and fast runs.
      One for long, training runs.
And one for long distance races.
Cannot wear heavy, cushioned shoes that is for long distance training to a 10K fast race. It'll weigh me down. ;)

What running shoes do you own Anay?

Bila mau join me run? Knee still not OK ke? Come come. Ask Letchumi also. :)

    1. Is it because your shoes ngam-ngam fit your feet? Must have a bit of space in front so that your toes can wiggle a bit also. Cannot wear shoes that fit ngam-ngam. Feet will enlarge after some time of running.
