Day Out - To Petrosains And KLCC

I wrote about going to Petrosains with Raimie earlier at DailyRamblings 101. Just adding more personal post about the day here.

Both of us started our trip from home at 9.30am and walked to MidValley. We took the RapidKL bus from MidValley to KLCC and got there at about 10.00am for a 20 minutes or so bus ride.

I had called Petrosains earlier to reserve our tickets. By calling in advance, we get to choose our entry time instead of having to wait for whatever time slot is available if we walk-in. Our combo tickets (for both Dino Trek 2 & Petrosains) were RM15 for adult and RM5 for kids aged 4-12. It is cheaper if Raimie was in school uniform!
Some photos of Dino Trek 2. Dino Trek 2 is rather small and if there was a huge crowd (with children from school trip or "rombongan" inside), I think you'd probably spent just 15 minutes here. We spent about 20 minutes inside, got to play at a few of the touch screen inside but unable to do much because there were so many kids in there! And I got pretty annoyed with some of the kids who apparently had no idea what a queue meant and why pushing other people out of their way (smaller kids and parents included) are not good manners. (Sorry - just had to rant about this)

Some photos of Petrosains. Even though we were out from Dino Trek 2 at 11.00am, we had to wait for our time slot at 11.30am. There were parents arguing with the staff there because the parents wanted to enter earlier than their own time slots. It is good that the staff were pretty firm about enforcing entry time but it was chaos at the queuing place. (Typical Malaysians?)
I decided to take Raimie around KLCC and ended up spending a few minutes at a toy store and made our way back to Petrosains 5 minutes before our entry time.

Raimie was pretty happy reading and trying everything. We did spent a couple of hours there, and unfortunately toward the end (by the time we reached the oil platform exhibition), we had to rush a bit as both of us got pretty hungry. There were a few vending machines inside but unfortunately the machines managed to "swallow" my money.
No trip would be complete without a visit to the gift shop. Raimie wanted to buy a dinosaur but then decided to buy a starfish instead to bring home. There was a school holiday sale last week so we got 10% off our purchase.

Even though we came out from Petrosains at nearly 2.00pm, the lunch crowd was still pretty bad and Raimie didn't get to have his McD lunch. The queue at A&W wasn't that bad, so we ended up having lunch there.

After lunch, we headed off to Kinokuniya and he got to read (see pictures) a few Japanese books there.

Zaini was able to go off early and we went back around 3.40pm. Headed home to Balakong and had a nice ramen dinner at Ichiban Ramen.
It was a good day out for both of us.
