What's the nice part of a journey? For me, one of it is the view outside. White clouds against the big blue sky, yellow rice fields ready to be harvested, streams, villages, train stations, the blue sea as far as your eyes can see.... fleeting view we saw while zooming by and comfortably seated in our seats. What a great way to travel. *^_^*

Nice! What a lovely change. Thanks for sharing, Lina.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, train rides are best done in the day. I remember taking a train from Sgp to KL some years back and saw nothing outside, just darkness. The train even hit a buffalo which stalled it for some 45 minutes. No one know what happened to the poor buffalo. I only know I heard a bump and then the train stopped.
ReplyDelete@HappySurfer,
ReplyDeleteYou took the night train to Sg? Pitch balck view can be boring, eh? :D
Kesian the buffalo. But then I guess somebody checked on it before the train moved on?
Looking at the local scenery is really relaxing. My first time to travel on the train was during a visit to Indonesia traveling from Jakarta to Malang. OMG! 24 hours on the train! Longer than any flight I've been on. But I didn't really notice the time because I enjoyed looking at the towns we passed and the fields..
ReplyDelete@jellybelly,
ReplyDelete24 hours on the train! Wow - that was indeed a long journey.
But like you said, with local scenery outside, time can pass by easily while on the train. And the fact that we can pretty much walk about in the train and not confined to our seats all the time. :)
Were you there for a vacation?
That is a nice scene indeed. The last time I took a train ride over here (which was donkeys years ago) all I saw was jungle and limestone! Damn boring.
ReplyDelete@Nick,
ReplyDeleteTrue lah. Scene to look at while traveling on train in Malaysia is somewhat boring. Aiyah, travelling on the highway also boring - I pretty much see palm trees or rubber trees all the way. XD
nice photos lina.. ahhh make me wish to go there some day.. *save money* kaching kaching!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots and I love the third one down. That must have been so relaxing.
ReplyDelete@Bella,
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind staying in cheaper business hotels (instead of 5 star hotels) and fly with AirAsia, you need not save all that much for a trip to Japan. :D
@Poetic Shutterbug,
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was indeed relaxing and so much comfortable than being cooped in a small airplane. Well, for me at least. ;)
oh yeah, i do enjoy watching the natural scenery from the window.. it can make me feel very relaxed and happy.. but if those are buildings and houses, i guess i will most probably go to sleep, hahaha~~ :D
ReplyDeleteI like looking out of the window too when traveling, enjoying the scenery. But after a long while I usually will fall asleep ;)
ReplyDelete@SK,
ReplyDeleteI'm the same too. If the scenery is too monotonous, it'll be zzzzzz time for me too. :)
@Evan's Mom,
ReplyDeleteA nap in the train is nice. And I indulge in that not only on long distance but short distance ride to. *^-^*
I love overlooking the window whenever I travel, seeing places and surrounding completes my trip. I hardly sleep on trips.
ReplyDelete@Ayie,
ReplyDeleteYou didn't? I cannot fail to sleep while travelling. XD
sleep is something very hard to catch for me XP
