Another Gunung Nuang Trip

Every week also must write about our trip to Gunung Nuang kah? HAHAHA

But this time, it's a hike with Son. It's his first time going to Nuang and we didn't plan any adventurous trip; just an easy paced hike up to Kem Lolo which is about 6K hike from the base and we planned to have a picnic there too.
This was last week. Mommy and Daddy hiked up to Kem Pacat which is another 2.2K from Kem Lolo. A steep 2.2K hike, I might add. Last week, Mommy and Daddy hiked up about 9K and 9K down.

This week, it was much lesser than that. A total of 13K done.
The morning started with Mommy making some sandwiches, with the help of her helper. ^^
We started our hike at around 9.15am. It being a long Chinese New Year weekend, there were quite a number of hikers and campers at Nuang on Saturday. A LOT of campers.

Met quite a number of familiar faces training too. Not so familiar too. Friendly nevertheless. ^^
We walked, we talked, he sang, he grumped, we hold hands, he kena marah, we climbed for 2 hours until we finally reached our picnic spot.

Spent an hour there, letting the kiddo play at the waterfall and ate lunch. Bumped into more familiar faces too.

Son was chirpier after the break at the waterfall and there was no need to cajole him much to finish the trek back to base.

It was a fun day out with the family. The weather was good and sunny. A tad hotter than last week but while it was a hot trek down, at least the trail was dry and safe that day. Wouldn't want a slippery, leech infested trail, would we? Especially not with Son tagging along. Not yet, anyway. He can have all the leeches once he (and we) is/are used to the trail. heh heh

Maybe we'll do it again during the school holiday? A hike up to Kem Pacat? Why not, right? :-)

    1. Nasi lemak quite troublesome to bring up la.

      Sandwich better! LOL

Gunung Nuang is great for us. Not too many people like other popular bukits/gunung like Broga. Running buddies also can be seen here. :-)

  2. i really like this boy!! he helped the mommy in the kitchen preparing for the food.. ah, what was he cooking there?? errr, sardine or something as the sandwich filling?? and there were also boiled eggs there, egg mayo?? hahaha.. i think Mak Glam can get this boy to prepare the sandwiches next time, and sure the boy will be even more willing to do it every time when the parents both say "NICE, we want this next time!!", motivation and encouragement dei~~

  4. good to bring the boy to get close to the nature than to ditch him at home playing with electronic gadgets.. i think kids nowadays have enough indoor activities, kudos to the parents who are so active and love outdoor activities.. :)

    1. I think both also OK. In moderation.

That's why sometimes son got ditched and stayed home and play games and whatnot and sometimes he follows us.

      Balance. Right, Uncle SK? :-)

  11. If your son, took photo, wrote a report in the scout log book, he can ask the scout teacher to sign his record book as one of the criteria to get Lencana Usaha. I gave many badges to my students when they did well n the Scout tests.

    1. We did ask him whether this trip is worthy of a boy scout badge (and he wore his pengakap shirt that day, some more! hehe) but he told us he wasn't sure.

We'll remind him to go check with his teacher. Thanks Willie! ^^
