Running-centric Saturday
that didn't involve any running today. Well, a dash here and there while somebody was taking photos don't count! ^^
Started our Saturday by going to Padang Merbok for a simple interview for an upcoming marathon. The most anticipated marathon in Kuala Lumpur if not in Malaysia. The Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2014. I've run in SCKLM for two years in a row and this year will be my third SCKLM. Son did it twice too. Hubby will be doing his for the first time this year and he'll be doing the full marathon with me! Yeay!
The clip will be used for their promotional video or something.

There were a few other runners involved in the interview and shoot. For us, we were interviewed as a family. ;-)
Our session finished early but we lingered and waited for a couple of my running buddies who were doing the later session. Show support, a bit. ^^
Finished around 11.00am and off we went to somewhere I'd avoid during the weekends. A mall. Mid Valley/Gardens Mall to be exact. To pick up my race kit for next week's run.
Good god! I never understand why going to the mall during the weekends with the whole family in tow can ever be considered a leisurely family activity. Too crammed! Too many people! @.@
Anyways, the race kit collection only started at 12.00pm so decided to lepak at Plan.B and enjoyed brunch.
Can be considered as an early Father's Day brunch as we'll be spending the Father's Day next Sunday at Lake Garden from 6.00am to 6.30pm (if all goes well). Not exactly a nice gift for hubby, making him wait 12 hours for me! HAHAHA
Remember the desert cap / topi jepun that I blogged earlier? Saw this hat at a hat shop in Mid Valley and just couldn't resist trying them out.
RM99.00 for it, got 20% discount and three colours available. Red, white and something of an off-white patterned cap.
Probably would have bought it, but I never buy stuff from a non-smiling sales people before. Not even when I desperately need the item.
I don't think I'd be needing this type of "protection" for next Sunday's event but if I'm doing Putrajaya-100 in November, I might just consider getting this. I do not have any intention of getting darker than I already AM!
Finally made our way to the 2XU shop at Gardens Mall to collect my race for Back 2 Endurance 12-hour event next Sunday.
Gotta love events like this.
They know everybody!
I arrived and voila, my race kit was ready to be handed to me. No need show any proof of registration because like I said, these people know everybody! Everybody that run this lah, I mean.

While we were there, just couldn't resist checking out the stuff at the shop.

ReplyDeleteI would think it's the same thing all over the world, where there are mall, there are people. Unless the mall itself is boring. LOL

well, different people likes doing different things.. we sure may not understand what others think and things that they like to do.. shoppers will ask why runners go running under such hot weather, while runners will ask why shoppers go shopping in a crammed packed mall.. hukhukhuk!! ^^
