Retro Fashion Is BACK!
This was what I thought when I learnt about the Retro Run held near Publika last month in May. Seeing quite a number of my running friends sportingly donning wigs and retro style sure made me think about looking for some nice urban retro fashion look to rock myself. Hahaha
Trust me to somehow notice a running event and then think about fashion. Haha
Either bold geometric prints from the 60s to the high-waisted bikini bottoms made popular back in the 40s and 50s, there are many ways to inject a little bit of retro touch into our wardrobe.
Time to raid our Mums old clothes, you ask? No need lah. Furthermore, getting the look on a low budget is not a problem at all. The key to nailing it is by getting the right fit.
Clothing style of retro consists of wearing clothes that are commonly used in the past. This way of clothing often includes clothes and accessories that have characteristics of such times. Many fashionistas around the world use them in an exaggerated way with the combination of modern clothing style.
Plus, we don't need to go all Stepford Wives to rock this style.
Pretty designs like tropical motives and floral can be unique and easy to find without burning a hole in our wallet.
I like pretty dresses like this. A LOT. ^^
And styling them like this would totally rock my work outfit, with vivid prints and denim patchwork. And I am so bringing my inner 70s chic out by pairing lust-worthy knee-high gladiator sandals with my fave outfit.
Err... shall we go shopping now, please?
