SCKLM 2018 Running Clinics
For the past three weeks, Standard Chartered KL Marathon has held 3 running clinics on Sunday at Taman Rekreasi Bukit Jalil to help runners prepare for the upcoming Standard Chartered KL Marathon on Apr 8, 2018.
There are 3 type of Running Clinics for SCKLM 2018:
There are 3 more clinics before race day, and that's on Feb 25, Mar 4 & 11.
I'll probably register for the Feb 25 clinic but will have to skip the March clinic sessions in favour of attending Powerman in Putrajaya on Mar 4 and running in the Bukit Jalil Half Marathon on Mar 11.
The running clinic is a great avenue to train - both for new runners and seasoned runners alike.
What's also great is that the organiser put distance markers 100m apart and it's good to gauge how far one is running even without a fancy running watch.
And we run around a 2.75km loop during the running clinic.
Online registration for the clinic is open in stages and usually opens a week before the next clinic and it does fill up fast. Luckily, the organiser does allow walk-in registration too, so those who were unable to register online earlier. Just arrive earlier to sign-up!
I also love the Lucozade "original" flavour that they serve for runners at the clinic. Best served chilled though. If it's not cold, it doesn't taste as nice.
For those joining the running clinic, there are 3 menus after we had the session with Coach Mark Williams. There is another cool-down session after the run but I usually skip that in favour of getting more mileage. Huhu
Those who registered for 10K needs to cover 3 loops or 60 minutes, Half Marathon to cover 5 loops or 90 minutes and Full Marathon to do 8 loops or 2 hours.
Although I'll be running in the Half Marathon in SCKLM 2018, I ran for 2-hours on Sunday. Might as well la kan... I had the company, I enjoyed running the route and I have free Lucozade to drink.
And we'll be getting official timing too after we run as our progress log.
All this and my run is FREE!
Anyhoo, if anyone wants to learn more about the clinic can visit KL-Marathon website:

The clinic will take a break next Sunday for Chinese New Year. Now.... Where should I go to do my 20K next week?
