Durian Feast

We don't have a durian orchard so finding and picking them up aren't an option. Though I kinda miss the fun I had when I was smaller, going to relatives' "dusun durian" and race after the thrny fruit when we hear them fell to the ground.

Buying them... and eating them immediately is of course, doable. XD And what's more fun than eating durian with family or friends right there by the roadside?
Musang King at RM27 per kilo. We opted for the cheaper D24 instead.
D24 durians!

Enjoying the yummy, custardy durians.

  1. My personal opinion is D24 tastes better than Musang King even though the latter costs more probably because D24 is sweeter?

Raimie seems to be enjoying his durian. Great candid shot there, Lina.

  2. Btw, this rainy season is not helping the durians. They are less sweet. But then again, when the urge hits, any durian will do lah. haha..

  3. @HappySurfer,
But those who like creamier durian would love Musang King, right? ^^

Me, I just eat any durian.LOL

The price is not helped by the influx of interest from China market too. Aishe, eat durian also sooooo expensive now. :(

  8. Durians always remind me of my wife's pregnancy, when she was pregnant, she literally could not do without durians, she would hustle me to buy her durians no matter how late,,,,,,mmmmmmmm but the good news is she is still craving for it, albeit without pregnancy hahahah, otherwise pengsan lol,,,,

  9. I think the smell and the aftermath heat that comes with it does not appeal to me. I can eat durians but I don't fancy them :)

  10. @eugene,
LOL! But you are such a good husband. I bet if she ask you to get some any time, you wouldn't have minded looking for it. ^^

  11. @sriyany,
I can't stand the smell of durians if it's in an air-conditoned place. Pening! XD

  12. I never liked Durian much but my husband being from Indonesia loves it. It's hard to find the fruit here and when it's available at the grocery it's very expensive.

  13. @jllybelly,
Durian is rather an acquired taste. Don't you think so?

It's even expensive here in Malaysia! Those really good ones, I mean. :)

  20. ahhhh, i love durians! i rarely see any lately, it is the season yet? unfortunately i wouldn't be able to eat it even if its available, since my throat hasn't been itself lately.

  21. @levian,
    yes, durians everywhere now.

Better don't eat any yet, with your throat not being well and all. Don't want to aggravate the pain.
