Fire Drill!
There was a fire drill last week over at the office building I work in. The building management tried to keep the date and time of the fire drill a secret to make sure everyone participated in the drill but we got the whiff of it early.
I'm so not going down 32 floors worth of stairs! So, we went down early and hide for a bit at McD and only joined the office people at the assembly area in time for the headcount. Naughty, naughty!
Because of the fire drill, no work was done for the better part of the morning. I don't mind since I don't have anything urgent or rushing for deadline that day. ^-^
Good planning ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd 32 floors up? Can't imagine the climb, if the lifts ever go out!
@sriyany,
ReplyDeleteI'm not gonna climb that high if the lifts there stopped working. I'll just head straight to the clinic and ask for MC! LOL
You should have brought your running shoes la and run down the stairs ... hehehe!
ReplyDelete@Nick,
ReplyDeleteI should, shouldn't I? But then, after sweating have to return to work. Don't want to be sticky all day long! o.O
Fire drills are necessary to remind people of safety procedures in case of the unexpected.
ReplyDeleteBut why you don't want to walk those stairs? I thought you are addicted to exercise! : D
ReplyDeletehaha naughty you! taking a little break n a little snack! :)
ReplyDelete@Mei Teng,
ReplyDeleteYes and the apartment I live in and the Mid Valley area never fail to have it every single year. And in Mid Valley - there's literally one fire drill each month to accomodate all the buildings and malls. @.@
@foon,
ReplyDeleteWalking down 32 floors' worth of stairs that has no view? Too clautrophobic for me! And the crowd that will be coming down?
I'll just climb up the 15 floors to my FIL house and feel proud of it. LOL
@levian,
ReplyDeleteI sure was, wasn't I? XD
hmmm, i actually thinks it's not a good idea to "escape" yourself from the fire drill.. you know, it actually help to prepare yourself if such incident happens..
ReplyDeletei will at least participate from evacuating from the office to the assembly point, and then go somewhere else to have my cup of tea.. :p
ReplyDeletei think fire drill is actually quite fun right?? anyway, come to think about it, when real thing happen, i guess there won't be any discipline being taken as everyone just want to run for their lives..
ReplyDelete@SK,
ReplyDeleteFor old staff like me, we've been through this year-in, year-out. Same building, same exit point. So I don't want to climb down the stairs every year owh! @.@
Anyway, like I told my Floor Warden, if there's fire,I want a helicopter come rescue me from 32nd floor. LOL
Walking down 32 floors is really no joke. I think I would have taken your route too. :p
ReplyDelete@HappySurfer,
ReplyDeleteThose who did were complaining about their knees the day after the fire drill! XD
Haha.. Naughty naughty indeed! :D Luckily you've got no urgent matters or on deadline.. I'm sure those who do are gonna be pretty pissed about the drill.. But wow.. 32 floors? *wipe sweat*
ReplyDelete@Bella,
ReplyDeleteNext year I promise I'll join the fire drill. From the 5th floor! XD
