Change!

I whined about not being able to have my hair cut and rebonded by my long-time stylist before we left for our Japan vacation. I really hate changing stylist. I went to the same hair salon for years! But when the stylist decided to quit and moved to a different state, I had no choice but to change. And after months of having a bad hair day (or should we call it bad hair months) and spending ages blow-drying my hair straight, I finally made the change.
And all because hubby needed to change the tyres of our car. Interestingly, the place that he usually go to was busy and we went to a shop near to Mines instead.

Providence? xD

While waiting for the car to be ready, we walked to Mines and I finally decided give the benefit of doubt to one place that always advertises cheap hair services option.

OK, so it wasn't exactly cheap doing a rebonding with treatments there but it was almost half the price I used to pay at Jantzen. We'll see how the hair holds up in these few days before I give any verdict on whether I'll be their regular customer.
My new hair. Well, the style isn't new as this is pretty much the same hairstyle I used to sport before it got to be way out of shape lately. ^^

You know, there are two things (or reasons) I'll be willing to spend oodles of money on.
1. My hair
2. My hobby (and that's running) - shoes, gears, races...

Other than these two, I am so the "tangkai jering" about spending money on myself. ;) How about you? What are your vices when it comes to spending?

    1. Yeah, that time when we met - hair look like weed. LOL

Got a RM16 haircut that time. And for those who question the difference between a RM16 and a RM70 haricut, for this lady - it made a whole lot of difference. xD

  2. the hairstylist moved to another state, but why didn't you try other hairstylist in the same salon?? all no good at all??

  4. but then i think it's actually important that you build a long term relationship with only one stylist, because he/she will know how to make you look best..

    1. Yeah.

And no need to explain much.

I just sit down and let my stylist decide what's best for me. And she knows enough not to promote extra treatment to me. Sometimes hearing them trying to sell treatments and eventually make that trip to cut hair soooooo out of budget. xD

    1. Aiyah! Cannot lah like that! I don't have a bottomless pit of money. LOL

Anyway, I indulge but have to be careful so that if I really *touchwood* die tomorrow, I don't want to leave debts for my son to settle.

Yeah, last time not only hear Bodyguard OST over and over. Watched the movie like a million times too! ^^

    2. Ha ha... Let your son settle for you lah.
Must tell him that's part of of money you spent on his tepung susu, Pampers, time to look after him.

Motherly love is greater than everything one mah.

    3. I don't use those to make him "guilty".

I used the "I carry you for nine months and doctor had to slit my tummy open" for it. xD

    4. Ha ha... You had a C-section ah?
Cannot, your value has dropped now.
If you chose natural birth. Got higher price!
Must let him know giving birth is actually very, very painful!

Next time take him to see penyu lay eggs in Terengganu.
Must show him animals also cry when they give birth!

    5. Teruklah you. But yalor, bargaining "price" with hubby decrease because if the c-section instead of natural. xD

Have you watched turtles laid their eggs. I did, but once during camping when I was in Form 4. Many, many.many moons ago already. ;p

  8. I like that slightly layered look at the back! I started grinning when I read this, of course, because women?! Women are weird. If we have straight hair, we want curly. If we have curly hair, we want straight. :D

When I looked up tangkai jering, I found an interesting new internet dictionary (still beta version) that seems to focus on English, Malay, Indonesian, Chinese and Japanese.

    http://www.kamus.com/

I think I might end up using that one a lot. ^^ I couldn't find alamak in that dictionary. Does that mean "oh no"?

    1. Ha! So you caught that "tangkai jering" mentioned. I purposely put a Malay word there for you to search! LOL

  13. Ahahaha u said it was not cheap but then immediately u said it was almost half price than what u used to pay at the regular salon ;))) so it was cheap then! :p

BTW, hmmm, I like spending money lately for myself (room decor so that I can feel more home, clothes, body care), and gadgets :)

    1. Anything less than 100 is cheap. Anything more than RM200, even if it cost less than what I previously paid is still expensive. xD

Spending money is good. It helps the economy. Spending way too much despite not earning much is not good though.

  16. I only ever once found a hairstylist I liked. When he moved away, I haven't been lucky enough to find someone else so I move from one salon to another always trying a different stylist. Like you I spent a lot of money on my sport :) It just feels better to have the right gear :)
