Spongebob, GU Chomps, Bananas And Lee Su Kim
All those spamming over SK's blog about McD's Spongebob Happy Meal toy made me crave for a McD dinner. So after work on Friday, off we went to McD. Didn't fancy the McD over at MidValley (the staff there seriously test my patience sometimes) so we went to the one at Jalan Telawi. The astronaut Spongebob all "habis" already so Raimie had the painter Spongebob instead. Still cool!
Got myself a couple of back-issue magazines cheap at a shop nearby McD there (they sell cheap books too!). Tempted to hoard all the running magazines that are for sale but managed to restrain myself and bought only two; for the price of one new magazine. Great deal for me!
While on running, I got myself a packet of GU Chomps from GNC at Bangsar Village. I went to Lafuma to stock up on my Perpeteum Solids but they had yet get new stock and most probably it'll arrive today.
Anyhoo, I decided to try GU Chomps and see how I like it.
Been eating lots of bananas for the past months, ever since I started this running thingy. For the weekend's breakfast, I got rather bored of baked beans so instead it was chocolate banana spread on bread with slices of bananas on top. Yummy!

We spent time over at MPH for a bit. I had been looking for Lee Su Kim's book titled "Manglish - Malaysian English at its wackiest". Can't believe that it's hard to find this book! @.@
Anyways, found this other book instead and I just had to get it! It's not for me, if you are wondering. I'm going to pass it over to a certain lady of insatiable thirst of learning. I probably get around to sending it... say next week? Next month? First, I need to politely request her address.

p.s. I love going to Bangsar shops. Staff there are sooooo friendly, don't you notice? From the McD staff to the staff at Bangsar Village to the staff(or owners) of the independent stores that line the streets there.
FIRST!
ReplyDeleteWoot! Woot!
DeleteLOL! Went to McD for the toys?
ReplyDeleteWas craving for fast food after all that mention about McD at SK's.
DeleteAnd I did promise Son that we can have one fast food "makan" every week. ^^
eih, now with McD Value Dinner, that's even better right?? so remember, they change to the new design every thursday, must go on thursday if you want to guarantee in-stock, i'm going to get a second one, the Superman in the last week..
DeleteIt's like movie night. New release on Thursday.
DeleteGet extra Superman and "present" them to me la... hihihi
Going to McD once a week and I bet it must be on weekend... no wonder you didn't manage to collect the Astronaut... you must go and eat on Thur, that's the release date of new toy.
DeleteOn Friday. Not too late what! xD
DeleteWeekends must eat at home because I only cook on weekends ;p
Oh! So you read running magazines? : )
ReplyDeleteI read running magazines, books, blogs, articles, websites, etc. :)
DeleteIt's fun after all. :)
Wow! Choc banana spread? I have yet to try that although I have tried the banana rendam in Milo LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice and smell divine too. I love the smell of bananas. :)
DeleteBanana and Milo. I love those too! makes yummy snacks.
Banana rendam in Milo?? Haven't try that out, just chop banana into pieces and put Milo powder on top.... it's superb delicious~~
DeleteAnd made my mother wondered, why the Milo always so fast finish one??
DeleteThat one lar. Except I don't sprinkle. I just dunk them into milo. xD
DeleteReally? Staff at Bangsar very friendly? As compared to where? Mid Valley? Haha! I didn't notice that! : )
ReplyDeleteFor me yes. Compared to everywhere else in KL.
DeleteYou have staff that actually say hi sincerely when you enter, say thanks when you are about to leave, gracious and you can't help to smile back and be friendly with them.
Of course, this somehow doesn't apply to cashiers at TMC. ;p All look so grumpy one. hehe
at first by just reading the title, really cannot find a link between spongebob, gu chomps, banana and lee.. ok, now i found the word - "random post", wakakakaka~~
ReplyDeleteI thought want to put "random post" as title but that sounds so like Panda's random post blog. LOL
Deletehaha very true also.. even random post also gotta give a proper and meaningful title mah..
DeleteNot that the title is meaningful. ;p
Deleteoh, rupa-rupa you don't like the McD at MV, errr, i'm quite ok with them they are quite efficient actually.. maybe i just use them to compare with the Kung Fu Chicken service then i am very satisfied, hahaha~~ :D
ReplyDeleteThe 3rd floor one, I OK. The LG floor one - they are sloooooow! And why need so many staff standing behind the counter? And then, customers need to wait behind long queues for food? Don't like! Don't like! :(
DeleteMcD Bangsar staff are friendly and they have "special need" staff that do their job happily (they look chirpy to me) that you can't help wish everyone has the same attitude, myself included. ;)
i seldom go to 3rd floor lah, this one is always being neglected until one day i realised why didn't i just go to the 3rd floor one from my gym at the same 3rd floor, instead i so perpetually go down to the LG floor, hahaha~~
DeleteEasier to go to LG from gym right? ^^
Deleteeih, just the second day you went and the astronauts all sold out?? how can that be?? hmmm, so you are begging Kian Fai to sell the extra to you, or you can ask your cousins at your hometown to check them out..
ReplyDeleteNo la... more fun beg from Kian Fai! LOL
Deletei hardly go shopping at Bangsar lah, i am not high class people, haha.. my usual hang out place would be MV, because i normally go to the gym there.. but then no shopping also, just go gym and maybe makan a bit then leave.. sometimes cannot stand those crowd in MV..
ReplyDeleteNot all place in Bangsar high class la... Got lots of Mom & Pop stores there. And it's rather quiet.
DeleteGot shady trees beside pavement. Got nice rows of shops. That's why I like the place. Only problem is parking on weekend nights.
wow!! your breakfast is very banana!! sajian pagi yang tersangat banana-banana belaka!! wakakakakaka, how's my national language?? huh, choc banana spread with real banana slice!! that's gonna give you lots of energy!!
ReplyDeletenot only give energy, good for digestion as well and easy to go make "deposit"daily. LOL
DeleteWakakaka, make "deposit" is a new term for me. I usually use the word "biological waste" :p
DeleteWah! Your term so advance one! LOL
DeleteIn Malay and while in school, we call "making deposit' as "menyahut seruan alam" direct translate from answering nature's call. ;p
oh, manglish!! you are trying to understand how the chinese speak in english?? that can be very interesting, no wonder you also speak like manglish last time we met you.. i especially find it very sweet when malays ended up their sentence with "mah", haha, this is actually so chinese don't you find that?? :D
ReplyDeleteNo, the book not for me lah. It's for Rurousha.
DeleteBTW, I always speak like that when not around Malay. Why? Because I am surrounded by Chinese. Lack exposure with Malay people. LOL
i thot Manglish is Mandarin-English?? not really the Malaysian English lah.. Malaysian English should be Malgrish right?? :p
ReplyDeleteyou see "grish" instead of "glish".. that's how most chinese will pronounce L as R and R as L, and of course to those western-accent-wannabe, R as RRRRR~~ :D
DeleteI have loads of back dated Runners World and Triathlon (not that I'm doing a tri, mind you) mags that I haven't even touched yet. I just like hoarding them ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteI found the chomps a little difficult to chew while on the run which is why I prefer the GU gels. I normally whack the chomps before I run :D
I actually don't like the gels. I just like to have the things in my mouth and chew/suck at will. LOL
DeleteSo you take chomps before runs and gels during?
I like the tablets because I pop them before my run and slowly suck at it and it usually still in my mouth for about an hour! Must not be good for my teeth. ;p
Aiyo! You don't read them, lemme borrow to read lah! ;)
I used to take the chomps before the run but now completely ditched them. Can't afford to buy both the chomps and gels, mahal la ... LOL!
DeleteYalah, they are expensive kan? The things we are willing to spend on for our "hobby".
DeleteThat's why I like the Perpetuem Solids better. 1 tube is RM18, got 6 tablets in there and one tablet is good for me for one 2 hours run. So can drag use for 3 weeks. OK lah... ;)
LOL was SK paid by McD to promote the Spongebob thing?! Ahhhaha
ReplyDeleteI saw the post too just now. Apparently the post hit over 200 comments and it was overloaded that he had to disable new comments. I was too late!
McD should totally pay SK for his post. I think SK managed to "poison" a few people who weren't interested in getting the toy into buying them after all, myself included! xD
DeleteAlamak, got a book about Manglish some more huh?
ReplyDeleteNot need lah, we use it so often.
Second nature already.
Ha! Must be no read properly lah you!
DeleteIt's not for me. It's for one South African gal who now resides in Japan.
Anyway, you know I write two blogs in English. Because I'm already mangling the English language on daily basis here! xD
Always enjoy going thru those stacks of old magazines and ending up with several.
ReplyDeleteI'd go easy on baked beans/soy beans, etc., esp when you are a runner. Too much of beans can cause joint aches. Everything in moderation is a safe bet.
I think once or twice a week on baked beans isn't overdoing it much, don't you think? ;)
DeleteBut actually, beans are actually recommended for a quick eat in one article in Runner's World.
True, beans are a quick eat and taste great too and once or twice a week is perfectly okay, I'm sure. However, they are definitely a no-no for people who have joint ailment. That article must be meant for runners with no ailments or in perfect health. Just my two cents, Lina.
DeleteDifferent toys in McD Malaysia and SG McD SG is having Doraemon robots.
ReplyDeleteDoraemon in SG's McD. Don't let SK know! In case he suddenly wishes to travel to Singapore to eat at McD there. LOL
DeleteI'm a banana girl, who love banana, eat banana almost daily and will go banana if banana out of supply.
ReplyDeleteLikewise. Same here too.
DeleteHubby joked that I eat bananas more than a monkey does! LOL
Oh no! I'm such a savage! I'm offered a present - a book!!! - and I ignore the offer because I'm preoccupied with tourguiding! Beats head against wall, crawls on floor, prostrates herself.
ReplyDeleteGomen nasai, Lina! I haven't read/commented on blogs in the last few days, but I'm slooowly catching up.
A book about all things Malaysian? Happy! I accept! Thank you! Terima kasih!
☆*:.。. o(^-^)o .。.:*☆
May I politely send my street address to your Gmail address? :)
As I mentioned in your post, my deepest humblest apology too.
DeleteI tried to find your e-mail address but there was none.
Instead of leaving a comment in your blog, I posted and announced to the world that I am gifting you with something.
How galling!
Again, I am ashamed of myself.
Please accept my apologies too.
*grovel*
Oh, but I'm Extremely Impressed with my Present Privilege! There's no way I'm not going to boast about it! "Look! A book! Announced in a post! Just for me! Wheee!"
Delete(I never claimed to be mature, did I?)
I am allowed to do my own post about this book, eventually, ne? I humbly request your permission upfront. :D
I have to warn you though. There's nothing high-brow about all things Malaysian. We can be crass and crude.
DeleteWe can also be a joy to get to know. :)
It's nothing like the books you are currently reading.
