Family Fun At Ice Watch Light Up The Day Run 2019
Every early December since 2015, the family look forward to join this one race. It's the Ice Watch Run which used to be called "Ice Watch Light Up The Night Run" as it was held at night.
The family had joined the 2015, 2016, 2018 night run editions and this year, there was a difference for the run. It was held in the morning instead and now of course called, "Ice Watch Light Up The Day Run".
The Ice Watch Light Up The Day Run 2019 was held on 08 December 2019 at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. It is for us, a birthday run for Son of sorts as his birthday falls on 02 December.

As per previous editions, two distance categories were offered. 5K and 10K. We signed up for the 5K this year.
And for the two distances, there were a few categories for participants to choose:

- 10km Men/Women Open (12yrs & above)
- 5km Fun Run Open (5yrs & above)
- 10km VIP Slot (Free Ice-Watch)
- 5km VIP Slot (Free Ice-Watch)
In conjunction with the Light Up The Day Run 2019, Ice Watch also launched the Malaysian special edition 'Ice On Fire' watch that comes with four types of red-and-white color design 'Fire', 'Chilli', 'Red' and 'Red Glow' and those who had signed up for the VIP category were entitled to get one of the watches during race kit collection.
Some lucky participants also won these limited edition watches through lucky draws that were held, with results announced at The Marathon Company Facebook page.
The watch edition is exclusively designed for sale in Malaysia, and participants also can opt to purchase the watch priced at only RM99 (normal price RM339).
Anyhoo, back to the race.
I have to say, there were marked improvements in the 2019's Ice Watch Light Up The Day Run compared to the previous three editions so kudos to the organiser.

5K participants needed to run 1 loop while 10K runners needed to do 2 loops.
With some 5,000 runners participating, the Ice Watch Light Up The Day Run 2019 was indeed a happening race.
Upon finishing, we not only received our medal but also Origina Drinks. I took the Tammar Milk which was quite nice. Not too sweet too.
Later we saw a long queue at the Origina booth, because Remy Ishak who is Origina's ambassador were there taking photos with fans.
And oh, he joined the run too!
We didn't take any photos with him, but we bought a few packs of Origina drinks. ^^
Bread for all runners. Served by cheerful volunteers.
It was a fun evening and we bumped into quite a number of friends there. I even met my ex-classmate whom I hadn't met for 29 years!

DeleteFarm Fresh has a popular range of it and I love it.
Even Gooday and Dutch Lady has the range now but they are too sweet for me. :)
