First Day Of Puasa

As with last year, it was easy to wake Raimie up for sahur. Since it's the weekend, we went out to McD (of all places!) for our sahur there. Mommy had quarter pounder, Daddy had Big & Tasty and Raimie had cheeseburger. Eating those at 5.00am! We are so unhealthy!

On the way to McD, Mommy kept an eye out for her pre-dawn running route but looks like the route she did on weekends last year may not be suitable this year. Construction sites sprouting up, stray dogs and stray Mat Rempits too! Safety first! Guess the apartment car park will have to do for the time being. Maybe I'll make friends with the "aci" who always goes out for a morning walk at 4.30am and follow her. ;p

By noon, Raimie was already whining about being hungry and thirsty so Mommy had to remind him that it's not good to whine about that and coaxed him to occupy himself with lots of activities (watching TV doesn't count).

At 5.00pm we decided to went to Bandar Tun Hussein Onn to check out the Pasar Ramadhan there and buy some groceries at Carrefour. Anyway, may need to go to Mydin tomorrow and get Raimie a new prayer mat. ^^
A whole lot of people!
Colourful array of drinks. We bought our soya drink from our regular soya bean uncle in front of the Toto shop instead. ;p
I wanted to take more photos but wasn't feeling comfortable doing it so well, just these three shots from Bandar Tun Hussein Onn Pasar Ramadhan. We bought an ayam bakar and RM6 of siput sedut from this stall. Man, things are getting pricier and pricier these days...

I think I'll just cook for buka puasa next week.

Comments

  1. Wah! I had a good laugh that your first meal of Ramadhan was at McDonalds!! I bet there were many others too, no worries about being unhealthy. Just relax and be happy la.

  2. I agree that the prices get higher yearly. I felt that the quantity was lesser and price got ridiculous! I was there last year at the same Bandar Tun Hussein car park and liked the stalls there. Parking easy and their variety really impressed me first time. Other areas somehow have different crowd and stalls. I think the best was along the main road in Kota Damansara, all well heeled Mak datins went there. I judged by their cars la.

    1. The place there OK lah... crowd also not so crazy. I shudder to go to more happening places like TTDI.

Wah, at Kota Damansara there must be a lot of Mercs parked by the roadside, eh? ;p

    2. Ya everything getting pricier and then some tak pandai masak also buka gerai.

Kota Damansara ah..no thankiu. also very jam. Then the place very near to The Curve and 1U. Bad publicity lately

    4. yalah, now everything also naik harga.. every year pricier than the previous year.. but gaji still sama!!

I was there every week for few months but not anymore as almost all sold out. I was there just sibuk sibuk and pretended to work by having coffee at Pappa Rich. 1. Yalor... the strays usually stay under Carrefour in the early morning. Last year, can hear them howling while I did my run on the incline near the lake. Those dogs didn't disturb me, but I think I'll stay away from that route this year. I'm more wary of humans. @.@

    ReplyDelete

    1. Was that you, Anay? So damn impolite! LOL

I stare stare at you and you went on muching happily. Piak your head! kakaka

    2. Aduhai! Sakit kepala ku!!

      Delete
    3. actually i did that too!! sometimes the food are just too nice, we cannot resist and sometimes have not thought about the fasting friends also.. i've bought some kueh from the stalls and before i reach home, i've already finished eating!! wakakakaka~~

      Delete
    4. If I see these two doing it, I piak both their heads! LOL

      Delete
    5. is that really rude to do that ah?? i thot during the fasting month you tend to be more understanding and don't care about other people eating in front of you?? and also this is the month to train you to resist your desire mah, right?? :D

      Delete
    6. but if you go to a place catering to muslims who fast and the vast majority do not eat at that time, don't you feel out of place eating?

I can be understanding. But I hope others understand me too. So there. ;p

      Delete
    7. that's why, always go to a place where nobody is waiting to break the fast.. haha!!

      Delete
    8. Now saying about politeness and so..... I totally forgotten about fasting month and I was enjoying my breakfast with my 2 malay colleagues in front of me, yes, this morning.

Am I being rude and not tolerant? But I have not taken my breakfast yet T___T

      Delete
    9. And I feel so awkward to take a sip of my drink....

      Delete
    10. For me, actually I don't really mind especially when I'm at the office.

But I do mind when colleagues eat anything that smell (fried mee, nasi lemak) when it is during office hour. So not professional!

Don't worry lah Yvonne, we won't be offended if you drink. I don't and I keep telling my colleagues it's totally OK to do it.

Then again, if we are out for a buka puasa event, I think it is good manners for the non-fasting guests to wait and eat together with the fasting guests and not wallop food first. ;p
