I Have A Lofty Goal

A conversation I had with hubby the other day, while being stuck in a traffic jam after picking up my Men’s Health and Shape Night Run bib from someone who can't go:

Me: “You know, I have a goal I need to achieve hopefully in the near future”
Him: “ I know. You want to do a full marathon”
Me: “Yes but not only that”
Him: “A marathon overseas. I know. You keep telling me that”
Me: “Yes, but there’s more”
Me: “I want to do it in a full costume. But I sure as hell need to train and run few decent marathons first. Those costume runners we saw all these time do pretty good timing”
Him: “Don’t forget, you need to be strong physically and mentally to run in those. Do you think it's not hot running in one?”
Me: “Yeah. Don’t want to collapse midway and come out in the paper with the headline – costume runner ran out of steam midway through race, do we?”
At this juncture, Raimie chipped in: “Mommy, what do you want to go as? A Goseiger?”
Him: “Run dressed like a petai in overseas run. If those two Japanese guys at SCKLM can run as a banana and lobak, you might as well promote local produce. Sure glemer”

And here I am, thinking of wearing something tame like dressing in a Sailor-moon costume or a teapot (and I’ll dedicate that run to you!).

Anyhoo, know any good tailor who can do costumes? I don’t think I can buy a petai costume off the rack. xD

p.s. I am thinking of wearing a bunny ear (very the matching with pink cap, don’t you think?) for this weekend run but I bet Zaini would not want to acknowledge that he knows me if I do that! I don’t think he’ll allow me to get into the car either!

My coming Saturday run will probably not be a good one, timing wise. Raimie’s school sports day is held this Saturday too from 7.00am-2.00pm (he’s in the relay team) and my run starts at 8.00pm. Energizer Night Race 2012 all over again?

p.s.p.s. I also aspire to run holding my Sony NEX camera someday. ^^

    Who knows you might wear their heroes costumes like Wonder Woman or Darth Vader? I think they got custom make for weirdos like you! Petai is easy to shape it. Just use 2 car window screen and clip to your head! Bingo! Lina Petai...!!

    I don't think I ever wanna wear costume when I run. XD Sauna, nanti I tinggal tulang. I think my most recent "insults" from frens are enuff. I get anorexic, skinny and malnutri lol adui.

    But if u ever finally found a tailor making petai costume, I'll cheer u on!

      "crazy" runners with lots of crazy costumes are what drawn me to races. They look like they are a bunch a fun-loving people. And they are! :)

      Why petai? Because my dad sells petai. He got them from Orang Asli and sell them off. Makes a lot of $$$ so don't look down on petai! kakaka

      Some races do have special category for costume runners. And special prizes too.

      But to some runners, they wear a costume just for fun.

      You know there was a "Harry Potter" running in the Ipoh Run last week (or was it two weeks ago)? Glemer! Everyone knows/shouts his name! LOL

    Petai is cute, but you should do cosplay! More memorable, wear something like One Piece~ don't forget the big hat! From far Zaini can easily locates and photographs you, hihihi!
