Sports Day!
Saturday was a busy day for us. For starters, we woke up just like we would on a schooling day because Raimie had a Sports Day.
But not before having some more breakfast first. Raimie got his McD breakfast, while Mommy and Daddy had these.
On you mark, get set.... Barefooted runners. We all run barefooted when we were younger, don't we?
I think I was the only parent that was screaming and shouting encouragement to all the green house students. I guess I'm not averse to making me look stupid. kakaka. But hey! It's sports. More fun if we participated actively and support the students. No? But I was mindful to keep myself in the sidelines and not impose myself there (unlike some other parents with nary a care because they wanted to take photos of their child(ren) with their humongous iPad. Tsk).

Some random shots of the school kids at the sports day. Happy, tired, stressed-out?
Stressed-out teachers rounding out the students for prize giving ceremony. kekeke
Spotted on the dashboard of the Milo van that came to the school. Looks like I'll be seeing the same Milo van later that night!
Chilling-out in between track events
A podium finish. And a team photo afterwards. Do you know how hard it is to get boys to pose for photos?
Congrats Raimie!
We were there from the start of the event at 8.00am till the closing ceremony at 12.30pm! Me & Zaini were on our feet the whole time because where's the fun just sitting under the tent with other parents?
I know my feet is going to suffer after this, what with a run slotted later that night. And suffer I did! But it was worth the suffering seeing how much Son enjoyed his sports day and Mommy got to be a bunny later that night! ^^
He said he is looking forward to next year and get more medals! That's the spirit! :)
Wah! Nice breakfast! I like half boiled eggs and toast with coffee!! : )
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite breakfast. But I wish I can have the thick hailam bread instead of those two toast. ;p
DeleteOh! Same Milo van? LOL!
ReplyDeleteYeah, imagine that!
DeleteBut I hadn't the chance to drink Milo that night. Queue was long and hubby & son was too tired and can't wait to get home.
Wah! Cheers for the students? So supportive and active! Haha!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Raimie for winning the medal! Looks like he's going to follow your footsteps : )
ReplyDeleteThanks Panda. :)
DeleteCan't help but cheer for them. It was exciting what... I was clapping, shouting only lah. I didn't run around the field to cheer. LOL
congrats Raimie!!
ReplyDeleteoh btw, i can i missed you (again??!!) on shape nite run? i was so kelam kabut that nite not even had the courtesy to reply ur sms. SORRY!!!!
btw, am looking forward on ur post on shape run.
malam tu, i lari 3/4 rajin. 1/4 lagi malas. hahahah.
Sedey I tau... ingat u malas nak layan. kakaka
DeleteBagus tu 3/4 rajin. I only 1/4 rajin. Kaki penat! kakaka
Kat KM8 nampak je incline tu, terus give up esp since nampak a fallen runner. I thought to myself that I better finish slow than not finish at all. Lucky still got medal. ^^
i saw the fallen runner too.
Deleteterus teringat my case dulu. mmg kesian kat dia. :(
oh btw, congrats on the medal. 1/4 rajin + sakit kaki and still earn a medal. thats awesome! :D
you did swell too considering sakit perut start lambat and all. :)
DeleteDpt medal tu pun lucky jer... sipi lagi nak habis tu. ;)
anyways... betul tak training bulan pose?
DeleteI last year adala buat xtvt giler, berlari kul 4am. Satu jam lari kat area Bandar Tun Hussein Onn (naik turun bukit kat Carrefour) then lepas tu sahur kat McD. keskeskes.
Well done, Raimie! The doting obachan in Tokyo is very proud of you! ^^
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Lina!
Thanks Auntie Ru! ^^
DeleteI was a nuisance to the students, I think. Me and my pointing camera. ;p
Yes, but mothers (and doting aunts) are supposed to be a nuisance! Isn't that our primary role in life?! :D
DeleteYeah, our goal in life are to be such a pest to them and humiliate them in front of their friends. LOL
DeleteWonder what would've happened if that little tiger had run in the same race as the bunny ...
ReplyDeleteBunny would run faster I bet.
DeleteCare to the be tiger someday and chase bunny? ^^
I don't mind wolves either, if it will make me achieve a Personal Best timing. ;p
Heh. If I had to run a marathon, I'll be the hippo! :-p
DeleteHippos are scary! ;p
DeleteTeachers are always stressed out. It's our default mode. :D
ReplyDeleteI can never be a teacher.
DeleteI will be forever in my "shouty" mode. So not good. ;p
And for punishment for students, I'll make them run around in loops. Pity the students. haha
Is that so, Ru? I see my girl's teachers are kinda relax.... and they always joke with their students?
DeletePrimary school and tertiary one differ a lot, eh? :p
Yvonne, teachers are also excellent actors! ;)
DeleteJust you wait till those teachers have to force English into lazy adults! That's when your stress levels shoot up, just like Tokyo's summer temperatures. (+_+)
I should add, in all fairness, that most of my university students are great.
DeleteIt's a different story at the eikaiwa (conversation school) where I teach, because sometimes I have students who only attend because their company/boss instructed them to; and sometimes I get "office lady" women who ... oh, gawd ... why they study English only they will know. To get a foreign boyfriend?
wah, McD for breakfast on the sports day?? hahaha, you sure can give him more energy to run faster??
ReplyDeletei remember last time my mum would give me a cup of milo and also a bottle of chicken essence on that sports day morning, hahaha!!
Deletei think raimie should have eaten your breakfast instead, looks more wholesome with the eggs and toasts..
DeleteWah! No wonder can be Sportmans of the Year. Your Mum sure ensured you had all the good nutrition. :)
Deleteyalah, she lazy to cook me nutritious breakfast then just dump a bottle of chicken essence to me :(
Deletenaughty SK... wei! chicken essence not cheap worr....
Deletehahaha, tapao McD to eat at the mamak stall?? how unfair, the mamak allows outside food but not McD!!
ReplyDeleteMcD Bangsar got a lot of people come in with their packed Nasi Lemak! ;p
Deleteoh really?? hahaha, that's great!! sausage egg mcmuffin with nasi lemak sambal!! so fusion~~ :)
DeleteMalaysian mah! Got nasi lemak stall right in front of Maybank. Can buy there then quietly masuk McD and eat. ;p
DeleteI did that before - buy McD and eat at Nasi Kandar stall. We have different taste buds. Mommy wants her nasi lemak, kiddos want their McD with toys.
Deletebetter, rather than argue argue on what to eat, then someone sulk la what la.. right? ;p
Deletefuyoh, so many parents there cheering for their children?? but i guess you were sure to be awarded the best cheerleader of the day!! wakakaka~~
ReplyDeleteI make noise only lah! LOL
DeleteBut a LOT of parents came to watch. Including a few sight impaired parents.
eih, i was in the blue house last time, for a few years already.. and i remember blue house won for few consecutive years while i was there, hehehehe!!
ReplyDeleteBlue house is this year's winner at Raimie's school. Overthrowing 4-years consecutive champion : Red house. ;p
DeleteSo Raimie's house didn't get to be the champion for the past 5 years?
Deleteyalor... underperforming house. kekeke
Deleteso mesmerizing the days standing on the podium receiving the medals.. errr, last time not medals but trophies.. i actually prefer medals lah, feels more like sports mah~~
ReplyDeleteCan easily store medals. Trophies, you must have plenty of shelves space. kakaka
Deletefuyoh 4x200m!! last time i ran in 100m, 200m, 4x100m and 4x200m.. hahaha!! the last sports day i bagged gold for the first two and silver for the latter two~~ and also the sportsman of the year!! can't believe that right?? :D
ReplyDeletebut well, that's almost 25 years ago!! XDDD
DeleteWow! Sportmans of the year. SK so active and so good in sports. :)
DeleteMy hubby was one too. Got a lot of trophies at my FIL house. He was Student of the year too, but I never believed it until I found his prize for that. kakaka
hehehe, unbelievable right?? besides Sportsman of the Year, i was also Student of the Year for two consecutive years~~ :D
DeleteSK memang such a good boy! Excel in studies and good in sports. Gave your Mum lots of bragging opportunities to the neighbours! ;)
DeleteCongras to Raimie, 4x200 is not an easy job.
ReplyDeleteI was happy he did it. :)
DeleteGood to know lina was having nutritious and healthy breakfast.
ReplyDeleteBut so bad lah right...
DeleteMommy and Daddy had a nutritious breakfast while we gave Son junk food!
I never liked sport days. I hate the scorching sun. I always hide under the tent / tree.
ReplyDeletethat's why you so "putih" kikiki
DeleteI took part in sport day during my primary years, and as I grew older to secondary school, I stopped joining any sport event.
ReplyDeleteInstead, I embraced sport days with food!! Yes, we had picnic under the tree meanwhile my fellow house-friends ran and scored the points. Hip hip hooray for them~~
I opposite. No teacher picked me during primary school. I was in "Perbarisan" only during Sports Day. So sad... :(
DeleteI became VERY active at Form 3 and above. People concentrate on studies for SRP, I busy playing sports. Everything also I enter. ;p
I never had any medal / trophy. I'm so "useless", right? And I'm not an excel student, just moderate one.
ReplyDeleteSay only lah you!
DeleteAnyways, you are good in drawing. :)
Last time during school time, I sapu anything related to English and Malay Language. Nobody can believe that the girl who jabbber in English at a breakneck speed came from a Kampung! I remember all the rich kids looked down on me at first, but I beat them all! Huahahahah!!!
2 weeks ago, my girl had sport day in her school. This bad mama was so cruel. I didn't attend :p
ReplyDeleteLike I mentioned above, I hate getting sweaty under the sun. My poor baby was disappointed when I picked her up in the afternoon, she told me most of her friends' parents turned up.
Also she was disappointed because her teacher didn't choose her in the running activity, I think it was a 4x200 too. She is so small frame and short.... no teacher is idiotic enough to choose her :p
DeleteSo I just comforted her and asked her to try harder next year XD Such hypocrite mama!
Aiyoh! Ini Mama!
DeleteNever mind lah she didn't get selected this year. Next year can try again, like Mama said. ;p
Auntie Lina only win medals when she was 15-17 tau! That time, she sapu all "balapan" event : 100m, 200m, 400m, relay, long jump, high jump. But cannot do anything that needed throwing. Arm too skinny. kekeke
Green house go green house! I was in Green house last time
ReplyDeleteHi five Meow... with Raimie.
DeleteRaimie's mommy was in red house last time. I think lah... Old already. Cannot remember. LOL
but howcome i never get McD breakfast for sports day geh :(
ReplyDeleteme neither. ;p
Deleteam never a good sport person.
ReplyDeleteMy schoold days the one i hated the most is latihan sukan. everuone FORCCED to attend. Must have chop in the card else....dies...
ReplyDeleteI love the latihan sukan. If it kacau classes, better.
DeleteI always find excuses to do non-studying activities (hence I was active in co-curricullum) just to get out of class. ;p
Then everyone is FORCED to join one event.
ReplyDeleteForced to run the 100 mtr and 400mtre to get point for the House
ReplyDeleteThen my friends and me jahat...all pakat run slow slow hahaha..those that run the fastest will have to join the sukan day mah
ReplyDeleteini meow very naughty!!!! LOL
DeleteYayy Raimie!! Tahun depan mesti lagi banyak medals.
ReplyDeleteI ran barefooted always back in school hehe..sesiapa dapat pakai 'spikes' kira terrer la. Tapi mcm tak best, kekok :P
I will never ever forget the smell of the grease used for line markers on the grass. Bila masuk je padang nak ke garisan permulaan, bau tu la yang buat I nervous as hell :P
Oh ya I pun selalu jerit2 kalau anak sukan. Adik I sukan kat MRSM Terendak dulu pun, akak dia ni yg terjerit lebih hehe
Amin. :)
DeleteNostalgic kan tengok budak2 bersukan? Teringat zaman sekolah dulu. ^^
Congrats to Raimie! Whoa, johan!
ReplyDeleteThe Blue House getup, bandana and all, very cool! All their different house outfits sure add to the canggihness of a sporting event.
Blue house got the highest mark for "Perbarisan". Their theme was transformers. :)
