5th Day Of Puasa
Woke up early today and didn't miss sahur. Well, technically it wasn't waking up because I can't sleep. Must be the adrenaline rush doing a late night run yesterday. That's why I favour early morning runs these days but beggars can't be choosers. And I run whenever I can this Ramadhan!
This marks Raimie's 4th day of puasa. He didn't fast the whole duration yesterday. No problem. At his age, him fasting is more to train him to do this "ibadah". Regardless, I am proud of him for trying.
During school days this Ramadhan month, I was able to wait for him to finish his religious class and do his Asar prayer before both of us go check out the Ramadhan stall nearby FIL's house; which is quite popular with people working at Mid Valley. The poor boy looks exhausted but he was game enough to endure it and usually he'd feel better after having a nice, cooling shower. ^^
For buka puasa today :
Nasi lemak ayam for Raimie
Nasi lemak with beef rendang for Daddy
Murtabak
and laksam for Mommy.
I am in panic mode now...
I have this team run event this Sunday and looking at what I have to go through (see photo below)... I am seriously hyperventilating about the tough route.

So, tonight I did (or tried to) a fast loop around the carpark - 2.4K at 13min then ran (and walked & panted) up to 8th floor of my apartment block and finished off with an attempt to do a few 20sec strides. Must climb the stairs all the way up to 10th floor (total stairs : 180) tomorrow and tried to do a below 6min pace 3K run. Good luck me! I'll rest on Friday and Saturday in anticipation of Sunday run.
By the way, want to know how most runners behave when they see a camera? See this video taken during the Men's Health and Shape Night Run. Sad though that I can't find me in the video. Another bunny was found but not this bunny! Bwahaha
Running up and down the stairs is a good way of exercising too.
ReplyDeleteyeah, an especially a challenge when you are fasting!!
DeleteYou might slim down very fast too..
DeleteDid the whole running/climbing stairs/lift weight shebang last year during Ramadhan - but as you can see, tadak slim pun! LOL
DeleteLOL... The runners looked so funny in the video! I would be more gila if they shot my video! Long ago I veli femmes one, always appeared on TV u know... Errmm!
ReplyDeleteanay is bollywood's greatest hunk, of course famous mah!! hahahaha, and not only anay is gila in the video, all his fans lagi gila for him chasing his all around any coconut trees available!!
DeleteI watched a lot of Hindi and Bollywood movies then, may I ask, TM goes by what name? Khandi Khan? Gengkis Khan??
DeleteWho knows, I used to idolize him :p
LOL...ya they do look so funny
DeleteOh me went by the name Anay Khan lah!.. Remember?
DeleteIn 1995 I started appearing on TV everyday as doctor for MOH in Anti-Smoking Campaign! Those days I was still a heavy smoker! LOL
Then appeared in Putrajaya Development as architect trying to lure foreign investors! Then appeared in several direct selling corporate videos include New Skin... I was hired because I looked like nerd.
Bwahahahahaha!
Wah! We have a model (TV ad model summore) in our midst.
DeleteAnay khan, got keep copy of the ad video or not? Post at your blog. We are all your fans, we want to see Anay khan in action!
Some runners looked familiar to me but I spotted Mamarazi's Kuldip inside wearing yellow singlet with blue torpedo on top. Muahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteGRrrrr.....let me go and wack they Kaldip! simly accept package like that. next time i put a bunch or poo in it!
Deletekakaka
DeleteIni kucing sudah marah dengan itu Kuldip.
Meow, go poo in front of Kuldip's porch! ;p
When I was training to climb Mount Kinabalu, I also ran up and down the condo steps till I was dizzy nak muntah! My wife Ajak me to lari up to 22 floors! Mampus la anay! ....
ReplyDeletethambee thought anay never have problem running because used to chase letchumi around coconut trees for hours and hours, and at the same time singing bollywood's latest hits without even panting a bit!!
DeleteRun around the trees and climbing up stairs are 2 very different exercise.
DeleteTM is so energetic to chase Letchumi around coconuts tree, that's the courting game. And once caught her in his arm, they'll proceed to 2nd game, ahem ahem ahem.
22 floors??? Crazy ah? I die faster
DeleteWakakakaka... Yvonne you cracked me up!
DeleteKuching - 22 floors is nothing for my wife! She ran up and down X 2 times. The training for Mt Kinabalu is no joke and tough otherwise better not climb... It is climbing and not hiking! Everyone should try lah!
Ini Anay Khan should be as fit also lah... wife can do 22 floors, I bet he can do double! Ever climb up KLCC tower or not? kekeke
DeleteSeriously, 22 floors twice. Respect!!!!
There is this one lady at MV gym, every morning will do the stairmasters like nobody's business. Can go at it for hours and while reading newspaper. The kaki kuat lah. Can do a lot of ahem ahem on top action no problem like that. kekeke
I tengok gambar stairs tu je dah rasa penat. Ahahaha.. I am unhealthy.. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI tengok rada nak pengsan! wakaka
Deletewooot!! gadis is really taking up the challenge to write about her everyday puasa during this month??? kekeke~~ cool!!!
ReplyDeletegood lah, you see there's a theme and it makes writing a lot more easy and handy right?? no need to think of a specific topic~~ :D
Deleteyeah, so we will be reading about how gadis run, cook and eat during this whole fasting month!!!
Deleteup close and personal to the life of the mother of all ultraboy!! wakakakakaka~~
DeleteYeah this Thambee and Anay so Kay po nak sibuk what you eat everyday. I think I will start buying food from from Ramadan stalls again. Now I know which stalls are good ones.
DeleteDid you find Justin Bubur, TM??
DeleteEh i thought I posted in your blog that I could not find Justin Bubur la.. The area is old China pek community!
DeleteLater when there is like 30 daily posts of my hundrum life, don't blame me for boring you ah!
DeleteYou all asked for it! bwahaha
Last year after that big quake most escalators in stations were stopped to save electricity. I usually travel on the Toei Oedo, the deepest Metro line in Tokyo. Oh man. That was a lot of stairs ...
ReplyDeleteYou have my admiration and my sympathy. GO, JUNGLE WOMAN! ^^
Goodness! I can imagine the long flight of stairs.
DeleteI feel for you, Ru!
DeleteIf I ever got stuck in the centre of the earth, or rather the shinkansen platform at Ueno Station... I'd need a paramedic before I even got halfway up! @.@
I really admire you Japanese (I'm including you too, Ru) and all the steps you have to face in your daily commute. Kids, office workers and obachan alike.
You know, the reason I used to go to the gym years ago, hired a personal trainer, lift weights and stuff was to make sure I was strong enough to tackle the stairs while giving Raimie a piggyback!
very true lah.. intense exercise at night will keep you awake the whole night.. you'd better do your run early in the morning..
ReplyDeletesomemore you can run together with minachi.. BTW, you have not blogged about the progress of becoming good friend with aci?? :D
Deleteand after the run, you can go back and make a fried rice for sahur.. wow, how nice a plan it is right??

DeleteBy the way, Aci got apek to accompany aci in her morning walks. Sure dun wan me to kacau daun! Muahaha!!!
Deletefuyoh look at the staircase!! so scary, where is this place?? looks like longer and more steps than Batu Caves!!
ReplyDeleteso how many times you need to run up and down this staircase?? see also i pening and soft-legged already~~
Deletei've never climbed a staircase so long, and i've never been to Batu Caves before also..
Deletemy record was going down from 23rd floor during a fire drill only.. and that was like 10 years ago!!! :D
DeleteWhat??? Thambee you never been to Batu Caves before? All Hindus must go there to pray la.... Ask Kamala bring you there and blog about it ok.
DeleteWhat??!! SK never been to Batu Caves, despite staying so near?
DeleteWhen I say I've never been to Batu Caves, you can't blame me because I'm staying sooooo far away. SK, I thought that's you and Kamala favourite dating spot?
Thambee I am still shocked that you had never been to Batu Caves!!! (shaking my anay head left, right, left, right)
DeleteI also never been to Batu Caves. Pass by plenty of times but never stop there... hehehe
DeleteBy the way, you know what the race organiser said... this one is not as hard as Batu Caves! Got only 155steps. Batu Caves got more than 200! kakaka
And it's at Lake Garden. You know where Memorial Tun Razak is? Is the steps leading down from the Memorial to the lake area. ;)
Gadis you tak ape never been inside Batu Caves but not Thambee! He is Hindu la!!
Deleteaiks!!! i think you better get your petai costume ready by your next run, or else the camera man won't even interested to take you in to his lens..
ReplyDeletedo some cosplay sure you will be shot for 5 minutes or longer, wakakakakaka~~
Deleteand then posted on youtube, and everyone shares that clips on facebook!! wow, you are famous then!! more famous than Anay TM!!!

actually I believe that puasa in Malaysia is very tough.. the long hours and hot weather..
ReplyDeletelast time I had a friend and he is from Morocco and he had a hard time puasa in Malaysia.
coz the weather and the long period.
this is because normally in europe country ramadan is in during winter time so the daytime is less compare to night time
But ours not as bad as in Arab countries!
DeleteSo I guess we should count our blessings. ;p
Petai girl you are really passionate on running... ramadan also you run.. bagus bagus...
ReplyDeleteNo run, later lazy to start again. Must maintain momentum. ;p
DeleteYour willpower is so strong! Bagus bagus !
DeleteIs it the problem on IE?

I only can put a new comment... aiye ... sien le
I face that too... Why ah?
DeleteIt only happens on my stupid iPad..... Type sikit only Kena jammed...
Deletelina, I agree with the rest. I am also a very sporty person, I don't think I can be active when I fast.
ReplyDelete1 month fasting cannot just go on hibernation, right? Life continues as normal. ;p
DeleteOnly lapar a bit lah...
I salute your semangat, Gadis. Wish you the very best of luck in your training and run.
ReplyDeleteThanks Yan.
DeleteIt's easier when it's something that I really enjoy do. :)
