School Holiday
Almost two weeks into the year-end school holiday and about 6 weeks left. Raimie is enjoying the holiday to the max. Plus, in a week's time - he'll celebrate his 10th birthday. He has just one request. A new pair of running shoes. *happy*
Since we are not much of a go-getter or high achiever, the school holiday is of course a very relaxing time for the boy.
doing a whole lot of this
plus this, his favourite past time which most of the time results in him making a royal mess around the house. But hey! Can't restrain creativity, can we? ^^
p.s. he was experimenting with stenciling technique when I took this photo of him.
but not much of this. I still made him do at least ONE revision per day and its not without a struggle. Gah!
Err..am I the first to comment?? :D
ReplyDeleteRaimie rileks la masa cuti, hari tu exam results bagus so boleh la kick back and relax aah :P
I pun baru je nak buat entry tentang anak2 ni haa. True, we should not restrain their creativity. Sebenarnya I sakit mata jugak la dan rasa geram kadang2 tapi tahaaan je because I want them to have fun. Even though it means the Mama will have to clean up a lot of mess later :P
Millie,
DeleteWe are like... kalau lah dia rajin lebih sikit... leh improve lagi. Tapi xmo lebij2 pressure. Semua A tapi macam robot pun buat apa. Lagipun mak dia malas nak jerit2 ajar kat rumah! muahaha!!!!
Yeah, messy tapi tak sampai hati nak halang. Sometimes mommy yang kemas but most times, Papa dia. Papa dia neat freak! ;p
school holidays.. and the happiest must be the kids!! and what?? they are having as many as 8 weeks off?? wow, how good~~
ReplyDeleteit somehow makes me wonder how i actually spend my school holidays last time by just staying at home, for that entire 7-8 weeks!! you know, i have never been to Japan~~
DeleteI really envy those school-going children! They have so many holidays!
DeleteI can't recall what I did during my year-end breaks..... Hmm, watching TV the whole day? Play with my sisters? I didn't have computer nor games console back then @.@
DeleteSK,
DeleteI tak pernah pegi round Europe like somebody did, tau... lagi kesian! Muahaha
Yvonne,
I don't because I don't like school! I only like the extra curricular activities at school. ;p
Last time , no games. We invent our own games. ;)
at least still got computers and also wii to play with the pass the time.. that's already such a big blessing..
ReplyDeletemaking him do revision?? revision on what?? haiyah, holiday mah, just let him relax lah stay away from books lah.. hahahaha!!
DeleteEr... I assign some books to my girl before I leave to work everyday. Am I considered a bad and kiasu mommy?
DeleteCannot always let them play 24/7. Having too much fun, then will have difficulty when school reopens.
SK,
DeleteCannot use Wii often. He used his netbook quite a lot but then, he also used a lot of his time doodling, drawing and sketching plus doing arts & craft project. ;)
Yvonne,
Yalah, study a bit. I made him revise Std 4 again. After finish this, we'll skim over Std 5 subjects before school start pulak. Most important, I want to make sure he really understand the subject he learnt previously and make sure the brain not rusty! ;p
ooh, turning 10 in a week's time?? so meaning there will be some celebration for him?? wow, requesting for a new pair of running shoes, he is going to join mommy in all the runs next month onwards??
ReplyDeleteso nice lah kids nowadays, can request for birthday presents.. last time, got a cake or even a fried chicken drumstick already consider a present!! cannot ask for more already..
DeleteRaimie is a Sagittarius? Woot! Sama macam makcik ini!
DeleteSK,
DeleteHe requests but does not demand. Got difference one. ^^
Yvonne,
Not only a Sagittarius but also born in the year of horse too. Kuda boy! LOL
Nothing like letting a kid live his life - not all that pressure to achieve and they end up like zombies! Straight A's in exams but ask a simple answer, they cannot answer. Ask something taught a couple of years ago, they will tell you they have forgotten. NO knowledge culture, no initiative to learn and remember. Just memorise, rote-learning to excel in exams...to get the A grades that would please the mother to no end. Absolutely brainless! Stupid!
ReplyDeleteWorse if they turn into walking time bombs! I've seen cases of mental breakdowns and they all end up a vegetable. Real sad!
My daughter's very serious in her work - would put so much pressure on herself and get all stressed-out. I was so worried that would happen to her. Just kept telling her - just pass, no need to get A or anything. Thank goodness it's all over now - she has graduated. What a relief!
Your daughter is a hardworker! Mine is very much like the mommy. Likes to take things easy and just enjoy life. xD
DeleteYou know, Zaini used to complain about those trainees who came to the bank he worked in... all so pandai. Ask so many questions. But when it comes to doing actual work - FAIL!
Ten? Soon? I hope his mother will hit me on the head on his birthday itself so that I remember to congratulate him. Meantime, have a very lekker holiday! ^^
ReplyDeleteI will if I'm somewhere near! LOL
DeleteIt's next Sunday, BTW. ;p
Lekker so far!
Wowww, how lucky Raimie is to hav a sporting mummy like u, sis... Especially when he`ll be having a running shoes for his 10th Bday gift...*clap-clap Soon he'll be an avid future runner, just like u n zaini... Kudos!
ReplyDeleteSchool holidays r meant for chillaxing, esp for the kids... After the hard days at both schools n bashed with all the exams, now it`s Raimie`s time to relax n doing his own creative stuffs... Who knows he might be the next Van Gough? LOL...
When i was at his age, i normally do the revision thingy 2,3 weeks b4 the school opens.. Kira ok la kan, knowledge baru tuh.. =D
Chill chill jugak. Study study jugak. Exercise pun mesti jugak. Kan? Baru balance. :)
DeleteSpeaking of balance, do bring Raimie to MAHA International 2012... For the 1st time my company organize it since it's held at our own backyard... It should fun n can shopping all those jeruk n petai too.. LOL!
DeleteOwh dont forget to blog all about it if u guys have visited it then ok... I bet u have been to MAHA International 2010? Hehee
DeleteTak pegi lah. I hate the crowd. Plus the jam. o.O
DeleteI used to make sure my kids do some revision every day during the holidays..
ReplyDeleteA little bit, just to ensure the brain not totally free from school stuff. ;p
DeleteWatch tv, play games, sleep and eat. hahha! That is what school holiday is all about.
ReplyDeleteTRUE!
DeleteAnd do last minute homework! SK won't though. hahaha
He wants running shoes for his birthday. Awesome! Get him a more minimalist type of shoe and not those bulky types. At his age, he's still probably mid-footing naturally and he won't get too dependent on those thick bulky cushioned shoes later in life.
ReplyDeleteHe's interested in a Adizero shoes. ;p
DeleteHe has a Nike Free Run now. ;)
You sure he asked for the shoes without any persuading or pestering or threatening thing going on from the mommy? Nyek, nyek....
ReplyDeleteNo lah... why need pestering. Runninf shoes not cheap wor...
DeleteYou have a good son. I always compared him with myself and my brother. I realised how rotten my brother is.
ReplyDeleteDuring holidays I would play with neighbourhood kids whereas my brother would end up in fights always! Gila.
ReplyDeleteWhen he was in late teens, he started to miang with my female cousins and others/ OMG!!!! Lina you are so blessed with a good son! LOL
Ala... I have 1 son only mah. Senang nak jaga. ;p
DeleteOh yeah, in a week's time, I will be celebrating my XXth birthday! Haha!! happy birthday to Raimie and to me! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteYou are celebrating it the day before, right?
DeleteHappy birthday in advance, Panda! ;)
SO nice lah Raimie get to enjoy his long holidays! I wish I am a student again and now definitely will be enjoying the year end holiday to the fullest!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha I never envy student's life because I don't enjoy school at all. ;p
DeleteBut then again, I think I still prefer now lah. Although less holidays, but no need to study and go to school! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAGREE! LOL
DeleteLOL...Raimi still okay la...not like mine. one minute tarak see him...whole house tunggang terbalik
ReplyDeletehahaha... but then one day tarak him in the hosue, sure quiet and lonely wor... right? ^^
Deleteadui...am looking forward to school starts again leh
ReplyDeleteNext year still kindie right?
Deletetoday i made him bake pineapple tarts with me LOL...tomorrow dont know do wat....garu kepala
ReplyDeleteso good! Small Kucing can be little pastry chef after this! Can my son come and berguru also ah? ;)
Deletemaybe you should send him to camp or something.. so that you got more free time at home to play lanun.. ahem ahem ahem
ReplyDeleteJust send him over to Grandpa's house or aunt's house will do already! LOL
Deleteyour house got nintendo wii..
ReplyDeletesure your son will play to the max..
No lah. Once in a while only play.
DeleteWatch TV better. kekeke
only want a pair of running shoes?
ReplyDeletesure ask more le .. emak banyak bonus .. kekekeke
My anak very good one. Don't demand much.
DeleteHe learns to buy his things from his pocket money that we gave him so he doesn't like splurging or asking for expensive stuff because he knows the value of $$$. ;p
wow he looks like a king like that.. kakaka
ReplyDeletelina, I salute you for making Raimie doing one revision a day. High 5 to you, I make my girls working on one workbook a day.
ReplyDeleteI will circle a few pages every day to make them revise their studies.
DeleteI don't like them wasting too much time on TV and computer.
DeleteBasically they are occupied by ping pong training almost everyday. Watching a bit of TV and reading story books.
DeleteI keep telling them, too much computer games will make them wearing specs.
DeleteThe one guy in this house who loves games wear a spec with a low power. The one who doesn't play computer games at all, wear a spec with a 600 power! LOL
DeleteHe plays. He studies a bit. OK la, right?
