Same 'Ol Wednesday
Coming back from work to a home that smelled wonderful. Beef stew slow cooking in the cooker, which is the norm for us on Wednesday lately as most of you probably noticed since I had already posted a few photos of my beef stews here and over at FB. heh heh
Tonight's dinner. Such a treat especially for wet nights like the ones we are having nowadays. ^^
I thought I had a slow cooker somewhere in the kitchen cabinet (wedding present yonks ago?) but when I checked a few years ago, rupa2nya nice fancy rice cooker. :P
ReplyDeleteDah lama nak cuba slowcooked meals ni. Tengok omputeh masak macam best je. I love the idea of tossing everything in the pot leave it there till makan time.
Kan? Baling everything in and then balik malam, dah siap.
DeleteI pun guna my "fancy" rice cooker jer. Seb baik ada function slow cook, tak yah beli slow cooker.
Sekarang ni terbanyak di influence dek River Cottage & Jamie Oliver. And you. :)
Heheh...i feel so honoured :). I pun selalu bayangkan Jamie Oliver mesti bangga kalau I put in more effort to cook.
DeleteOkay I go look at the functions of my fancy rice cooker now! Sib baik you beritahu haha
Slow cooking going swell, I gather? ;)
DeleteI pun nak try cook curry like that.
p.s. I suck at cooking curries. huhuhu
errr, i also noticed you have been having beef stew quite regularly (in fact a little too religiously) lately.. hahaha!! is that the simplest yet yummiest thing you can cook at home?? :p
ReplyDeleteGot cheap meat sold at TMC. Those clear stock one. Bought a lot, so must makan a lot these few days! Some more, I need protein for recovery after my marathon! ;)
DeleteIt is simple. And easy. And cheap too!
so just one loaf from Cold Storage @ The Gardens (again) for dinner with beef stew, and no rice for both the boys?? how Mat Salleh lah~~ :p
ReplyDeleteTwo loaves actually. What Mat Salleh? Not Mat Salleh also can eat bread what! LOL
Deletehmmm, something's missing for me lah.. perhaps i would also buy some rocket leaves or lettuce (maybe butterhead or romaine or coral, but not iceberg, sicked of it and gotta be a little more high class mah) to go with the loaf and stew.. i always like to have something green with my meals..
ReplyDeleteDlm itu stew like a whole load of veges already. I cannot take too much vege. Too much fibre also not good especially when I have races coming up.
DeleteMust jaga makan so no need to visit toilet too often! LOL
wet nights.. yeah, it's a wet day today.. that is why we call it WETNESSday~~ :)
ReplyDelete"Pun" dai lah in SK. ;)
DeleteIt was too wet and flooded like hell everywhere. It took me 2 hours to get home!!
DeleteLooks yummy! You are making me hungry!
ReplyDeleteNoodles with kimchii for you? :)
DeletePanda eats bamboo leaves only!
DeleteI love having bread and stew! I can have it anytime!
ReplyDeleteMe too! :-)
DeleteCan see it's a wonderful dinner from the pictures!!! =]
ReplyDeleteAnything with the family is wonderful :-)
Deleteoh, that's yummy! Dip that bread into the curry..
ReplyDeletebut I didn't cook curry :-D
DeleteI am also a big fan of slow cooker. I am thinking of buying another bigger pot! So easy and useful.
ReplyDeleteWhy cook so much?
DeleteWant to feed all of us also ke?
Let's go to Anay's house for dinner! Yeay! ^^
Ooooooo...that looks soooooooo good! I go KL, you invite me to your house, cook this for me, can? I LIKE!!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteNo lah.
DeleteLater you will say, you've eaten better elsewhere. xD
Hihihi
Beef stew, that sounds great again from your site here... Makes me drooling.
ReplyDeleteYeap yesterday was heavy poured rain at Taiping too... I sleep so well last night..
Kak Lina, I noticed your Astro remote got loosen right? you tied it up with rubber band... Mine also.
ReplyDelete"Kak Lina"? What does that mean?
DeletePS: Lina, you know what it means in Afrikaans, don't you?! ^^
Kak = it's "unni" in Korean. So Korean gals younger than me would call me, Lina unni. heh heh
DeleteIt means older sister as a sign of respect.
Actually, to tell you the truth, while I'm fine being called that by most Malays, I still feel weird when non-Malays call me that. And absolutely weird when used in the office. xD
p.s. Errrr... I'm bad in languages. :P
Aha. The Afrikaans word for an older woman is either "tannie" (i.e. obachan) or "mevrou" (a title used for married women). In every woman's life there comes a day when a younger woman addresses her like that for the first time, and that day shall never be forgotten ...
DeleteOh gawd! I just called "auntie" at the run I did this morning by a guy who doesn't look like he's younger than 20! @>@
DeleteYummy!! I can smell your beef stew over here! :p
ReplyDeleteHehehe
DeleteHope you didn't drool! ;)
Never mind the beef stew; look at that gorgeous bread behind the beef stew! :D
ReplyDeletei belum breakfast ni
ReplyDeletetak pe tak pe...malam ni i post ikan bakar pulak.....revenge...muhahaha
DeleteWhat! Those aren't soft. They aren't fluffy. Not airy too. How can the bread be gorgeous. hehehe
DeleteMeow,

You are having rainy days in KL now? Nice hot meal for a cold night :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have to go back to your hometown for GE voting?
I'm a registered voter for Lembah Pantai. No need to go back to hometown.

ReplyDeleteI m sure is very appetizing with rice
