The Week's Up!
A whole week of no school, and now school's back open! Boohoohooo, cried all students and their parents too. LOL
Somebody asked me whether my son complained to us about not going holidaying anywhere during the school holiday and I asked them back, "why would he?".
A trip anywhere is not compulsory. We can have fun around our area too. Well, we did got around more, around KL though during the school holiday.
Was it a boring week for Son? I hope not.
He had several projects going on and none of them are for school! ^^
He has a book to read and finish. It's Secret Seven. We "discussed" about what he had read during bedtime.
He was treated to a trip to KL Tower because he wanted to go the the "Gempak Starz" booth there and buy their "Lawak Kampus" comic which at the moment is sold only at the booth. Yes, he is allowed to read comics and play games too.
Aren't we terrible parents? xD
He got to play palaentologist and did some excavation of a mammoth fossil. Mammoth fossil in a box. ^^
Fun stuff, I tell you!
Excavate first, assemble the skeletons later.
He also did some arts & crafts.
What is he making? A sword. ;)
He walked at the trail behind our apartment a few times. Waited for Mommy when she did her group run. Watched a whole lot of TV. Played a whole lot of computer games. Had a sleepover at granddad's house one night. Helped Mommy and Daddy in the kitchen for a bit.
What is there to be bored of? ;-)
And oh yeah, the school holiday meant that there was more time at home, and we kinda enjoyed a whole lot of home cooked food this week. Mommy has been bombarding FB friends with food photos last week, ^^!
Looks kinda good, cooked by someone who cannot cook, don't you think?
psst... there was a sale of broccoli at AEON big, just 95sen per head so that's why all my food photos last week had broccoli in the dishes. Hahaha
Muahahaha! Hi 5 to you lina. This school break, we didn't travel also. Same here, I don't find my girls are bored .
ReplyDeleteDifferent people have different views on what's a great holiday, I guess. ;)
DeleteBoth of you are great mamas of modern times! I do envy all the attention and activities you both gave your kids!
DeleteMy girls watched more TV during school break, we bought them for 2 movies, a night swim, their normal ping pong training, swimming lesson, piano lesson and art class. Besides, we let them do some work book in the day.
ReplyDeleteWah! Very packed school holiday!
DeleteThen, we went jalan jalan a bit and makan makan a bit in Taiping, that it is.
ReplyDeleteBefore the school break ended, we went to pray for ancestor. First time for my girls though.
It must be a great learning experience for the girls to pray for their ancestors too.
DeleteHe's so hardworking. Good for him.
ReplyDeleteHe's having fun. :)
DeleteSo good your son, spending his time is such beneficial pastimes. Most kids these days - ipad, online games day and night. Terrible!!!!! Hmmmm...you cooked that? Presentation's nice, dunno the taste. Hehehehehe!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHe'll play games day and night too, if he is allowed or go unsupervised! xD
DeleteWell, I bet you'd say you've tasted better! LOL
i find it weird to have such perception that the parents must bring the kids somewhere during school holidays.. errr, the "where" is not important but the "what" and "how" the parents and kids are doing things TOGETHER..
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, SK!
DeleteBut now, more often you see how parents (and kids too) brag about going somewhere instead of doing something together.
yeah, i guess many parents will just bring the kids somewhere, then ditch them somewhere else with an iPad and the adults will do their own things, the kids will hook on to the games.. that's not doing something TOGETHER!! i like how you involve in Raimie's projects..
DeleteI have to confess that Raimie had more of his Daddy's time than Mommy's.
DeleteMommy do get pre-occupied with her marathon training mist days :[
school holiday everywhere also traffic jam....
Deletei didn't even travel anywhere during my school holidays when i was a kid.. i stay at home all the time and i wasn't complaining.. guess i was as good as Raimie right?? hehehe~~
ReplyDeleteWe know you were and still is a good boy, Ah Boy. :)
DeleteI went around Malaysia during school holidays but I didn't really miss that because I went without my parents. :(
The important thing is for family to stay and enjoy their time together.
yalah, whilst most of my classmates brag about taking aeroplane going overseas during school holidays.. i just stay at home doing what i like to do.. i only travel for leisure when i started working..
DeleteI always listen im awe when my classmates brag about their overseas travel too.
DeleteBut strangely, I do enjoy just staying in my hometown doing whatever I want to. :-)
aiyoh, was concentrating on something else and forgotten that i was half way commenting here!! haha..
ReplyDeleteI thot you merajuk! Only two comments and then gone. :-D
Deleteso nice lah.. Raimie spend his time exploring things for his project while mommy also explored cooking in her kitchen.. who say we must go somewhere for vacation during school holidays right?? see Raimie and mommy and daddy were all happy about the time spent together wat~~
ReplyDeletegoing Japan this year end?? :D
Bad SK! Still wanna ask about us going to Japan. :-D
DeleteNot this year. Next year. After Raimie finishes his Std 6. :-)
The tour guide is studying maps and the zebras are working on their stamina. :D
DeleteA one year stamina building plan for zebras should be more than enough. :-D
DeleteStrongly agreed with ya Sis... Quality time with our parents is the most precious moments together, dun have to go far far away, escapade somewhere2, just do things we luv most together will suffice... Cherish the memories n preserve it while it lasts... =D
ReplyDeleteAfter MWM, I assume more mother-son bonding time for you guys, right? Cool... After all, Raimie had your running @ active genes too somewhere... Raimie is a very creative boy, with crafty hands... So good of him to fill his school break diligently n wisely...
Ala... Kang dah besar, sure dah takmo lepak with the parents kan? So, kena lah guna this time and spend it with him b4 he gets too big.^_~
Deleteadei...the fish really la ...i thought you makan in the restaurant when i saw that photo in FB
ReplyDeleteRaime is good with his hands....self entertaining :)
Deletesingle child sure know how to self entertain. J also, right? :-D
DeleteBroccoli's good for marathon runners, too, innit?
ReplyDeletePS: Holiday is over this side too. April = new academic year. Here we go. Ganbarimashou!
New term. Ugh, says the mother. :-D
DeleteThese days KL has got so many places and activities for kids to explore. Why should they be bored?? Maybe anay's time, life was really boring like hell during holidays but I had neighbourhood kids to play with. I could run outside whole day and my mother was never worried that I would be kidnapped. It was so safe then.
ReplyDeleteWhere got class go around KL one? Unless you're from out of town la :-D
DeleteI recall back when I had to spend almost all my holidays in Thailand like 3-4 times a year during breaks from Std 1 till Form 5. Thailand was boring to me cos I was holed up inside the house compound as they already had terrorists and kidnappers in the South of Thailand during my young days. Now they bomb everywhere!!
ReplyDeletePalaentologist??? What a bombastic word!!! Anay stupid and had to google dei.. Muahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI also need to use spell checker for the word! muahaha
Deletewow is that a game or what... must be very carefull taking the skeletons.
ReplyDeleteA game la... it's a set that came in a box.
DeleteKorek korek first. Then, play jigsaw puzzle when assembling the skeletons.
Good to nurture patience. ;)
He enjoyed a fun school holiday which he will remember for many years to come. Nowadays kids just want to play smartphone and computer games.
ReplyDeleteHe plays those too.
DeleteBut he also has other interests. Thanks goodness. :)
