Fun Stuff Saturday
Nothing special, as always. But that sure won't stop me from doing a blog post about today! LOL
The day started early. Needed to be at Raimie's school. There's a meeting today about some involvement from parents for the kids or stuff like that. I tell you, I can't understand most of the Malay words used in official letters nowadays. What' does "sarana" mean again? o.O
The soft-spoken headmaster giving a speech. Parents' attendance, as usual was dismal. The usual set(s) of parents (or shall we say, mothers) were there. I don't think it was because today was GE nomination day that caused the dismal attendance!
Anyway, we are supposed to come today to meet with the teachers for the report card too! Well, some parents are busy, I suppose.
Same old story with Raimie's academic performance. Still no. 2 for Std 5. Still a few things that needed to be improved. Overall good but as his class teacher said, a good student is not based only on his/her results but overall performance. In studies. In discipline. In character. Raimie had his name in the discipline book a few times and he doesn't seem to be perturbed about it. Haish. That boy.
Went to collect the t-shirt & bib number for next week's 12K race at World Kidney Run after that.
Limited medals for 250 Women Open runners. I hyperventilated about it a bit (since I do want a medal) and Zaini looked at me and asked "why? You think you can't?" OK OK I'll run and aimed to get one. That means, no late start. No cheesy grins to strangers and saying hi to random people. Just RUN! hahaha(as if I run faster if I stopped clowning around anyway) ekekeke
Makan wise, it's simple homemade meals for Saturday :
This was actually lunch. Part healthy, part unhealthy. Healthy : veges lightly fried with crushed black peppers. Unhealthy : cocktail cheese-filled-sausages.
Dinner. Mommy still on "don't want rice" mode and been craving for some tortilla for days, after seeing this post.
yummy healthy simple meals..
ReplyDeletewell, it's always like that when it comes to Parents Day. Most parents won't be able to make it especially parents of weaker classes.
congrats to yr boy..
Yummy, healthy and not expensive too!
DeleteEvery parent have their own challenges I suppose in making time for their kids. Some just don't have the time and resources as others. :(
Yummm!!! Your homemade meals look great.
ReplyDeleteYa...so sad...when the schools try to do something and parents do not support...and anything wrong, they will be so fast in blaming the school and the poor teachers.
I have to agree.
DeleteBut then, sometimes... have to blame both parties (parents & teachers) for not trusting each other.
nothing special?? but it seems something special lah.. you went to the school with dismal parents' attendance and you make yourself very nice meal at home.. simple things can be special also mah~~
ReplyDeleteSimply special? ^^
Deleteaiyo who is that guy always on top of Raimie?? always there to block him from getting #1 in class since standard one i guess?? hahaha..
ReplyDeleteThat boy pretty much managed to sweep all top position. Got one time (I blogged about it) the teachers even mistakenly put that boy's name on a trophy that Raimie won (it was Best for Science) Adui...
Delete"Raimie had his name in the discipline book a few times and he doesn't seem to be perturbed about it."
ReplyDeleteerrrr, name in discipline book is not something good i guess?? aiyoh, then like mother like son lah, what else can we say?? muahahaha~~
I never got into discipline book. That boy dunno how to do things without getting caught la! Bwahaha!!!!
DeleteThis one sounded like me! I was always being labelled as too talkative in class when in primary! Always missing from class in Secondary. Muahahaha!
DeleteAnay,
DeleteYou go missing from class in secondary school, you did what ah? play on motorcycle with Letchumi ka? :-D
i like your simple meals at home lah.. the sausages and veggie for lunch.. and especially like the wraps for your dinner lah.. looked so healthy aje~~ what have you got in the wrap?? the same thing you had for lunch but wrapped in tortillas?? haha~~
ReplyDeleteDinner was pretty much the same veges I had for lunch (except the broccoli) with a cheese steak too as the filling.
DeleteAll the best for the Kidney Run, a medal is easily achievable for you. I'm volunteering instead of running the race, will shout out if I see you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the vote of confidence Nick. ^^
DeleteYou always encourage me, from the start. :)
See you there! & thanks in advance for volunteering.
Yummy tortilla!! Very healthy indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rose.
DeleteNeed to eat healthy to stay healthy. :)
Ape yg raimie buat smp masuk nama dlm buku pengawas? Hehehe..
ReplyDeleteTula... Pengawas ada nama dlm buku displin. Isk isk...
DeleteMasa cikgu dok cerita kat kitaorg, dia buat muka selamba jer. Haih
No rice, ada tortilla I can survive with that! :D
ReplyDeleteNo everyday for me though. But I can survive on bread. :-)
DeleteHealthy meals that are simple to prepare with fresh ingredients & big on taste...wah I sound like Jamie Oliver kui3
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking my blog entry here Lina :D
Selalunya anak-anak yang pandai mcm Raimie memang ada nakal2 sikit..hehe..sikit2 okay lagi la kan jgn lebih2 tau Raimie :P
hehehe... I pun terpengaruh dgn Jamie Olivet. Zaini lak byk terpengaruh dgn River Cottage's Hugh. :-D
DeleteNakal dlm kelas & mostly malas buat kerja. Sib baik bukan nakal kacau/buli org.
When Letchumi last taught at the private school @ Damansara Hts, the parents paid some RM45K of fees and only wanted hear sweetest things. She learnt a lesson that those parents were nuts. If they heard negatives about their kids, they would consider change teacher or school instead.
ReplyDeleteI told her she is a sales woman so need to talk like one. Now at "Tailor's", every kid is superb and all parents happy lo. The world is silly.
DeleteSilly parents.
DeleteI've always told my son's teacher to not spare the rod. I'm perfectly fine if he gets caned provided for valid reason la...
When I was in secondary school, I still kena rotan. Nvr went running crying to parents since I know it was my fault. :-D
dont say you la...me also doesnt understand most bahasa words they use today. and I got A in Bahasa last time you know....haiz...now so many "new" words.
ReplyDeleteJust last year i baru learn that "Teruja" means excited. Teruna i know la but teruja last time mana ada this word punya
I know one way to make you run faster la...that is Zaini naik basikal next to you
DeleteI pening with words like mantan. :-)
DeleteNo, I don't run faster if Zaini cycled alongside. I tend to chat with him. :-D
Mamma Bunny Femes sure can run faster one, just keep on focusing to the fast track songs sure can grab those limited finisher medal... I have faith in ya Sis... hehee... Gambatte kudasai!
ReplyDeleteIt`s normal right for kid around Raimie`s age to be naughty once in a while... Biasanya budak lelaki yang nakal nih bijak pandai belaka...
If he is a bit more rajin, he can surely beat that no. 1 Golden Boy in no time... =D
Wow, love the tortilla you made... so healthy.
ReplyDeleteYeah nowadays B.M have alot of kata pinjam from English too...
SARANA? I'll Google it later...
BTW, that cheese int he cocktail sausage, where you get that? what brand? looks yummy ler..
ReplyDeleteI bought cocktail sausages with cheese already in it.
DeleteThose yellow dollop were mustard. I don't use chilli or tomata sauce. :)
Oh that yellow one is mustard, I thought that yellow thing is cheese that burst out heavenly delicious from the sausage eh.... *Slap my forehead*
ReplyDeleteDiscipline issues? ^^ The African auntie in Tokyo can't but help approve. Rules? Meh. What rules? :D
ReplyDeleteMommy is no help either.
DeleteWasn't too concerned about it.
*slap forehead*
